Well, my friend...it is time again for you to send some sympathy my way. For, I am a die-hard Red Raider fan, living in the land of Burnt Orange! I will say, it's been nice meeting a few fellow Red Raider fans, and always good seeing a chrome double T emblem on the back of a vehicle. And not ALL Longhorn fans are so bad. A few are friends of mine. BUT, they simply know the etiquette. It's just the ones that...have their BMWs and Hummers painted burnt orange, with big white longhorm emblems on the doors, that "bleed burnt orange" and advise me to watch my step, like I'm living in enemy territory.
Granted, I'm REALLY looking forward to this season. And people I know that don't root for Texas teams, have been telling me what they've been reading about Tech, and how they're gonna be the team to watch this year. And a lot of these folks will root for Tech, long before they ever root for the Longhorns. Of course, it's all about the fun of it...and the spirit. And God knows if anyone has crossed paths with the truly psychotic fans...it's definitely YOU. And you know where I'M coming from, as you and I remember reading the Dirk West cartoons together in the Avalanche Journal. Ahh, the good ol days.
Despite it all, I have faith in my boys. And I try to be a good sport about it. Oh sure...I could tell some of these pompous, pretentious Longhorn fans how their emblem sort of looks like a cartoon drawing of the female reproductive system, more than it does a longhorn, how I bet Bevo would taste great with some Stubbs bar-b-que sauce, how I PUKE burnt orange...but no...I don't do that. Of course, one thing I never get tired of. After UT celebrates a win, I always love saying, "Cool, guess that means they lit up the RICE OWL tower on campus!" That either shuts them up or leaves them scratching their heads. You have a good one, my friend. Hope the Hub City is still treatin ya well.

This might be a new sign of the times. at Monday night's Rangers game, after Hamilton's home run, there were a couple guys in the crowd wearing the blue Rangers jerseys.

Thanks for the Add, not the A.D.D, but the add.

How many times this season have you thought about abandoning the Rangers? knowing my luck, the moment I start banwagoning another team, the Rangers will fast track it to the top.

So Ryan...I'm thinking this is the best place to put up those pictures of you in the 4th grade. You were ahead of your time, sporting Buddy Holly-style, horn-rimmed glasses in the elementary schools of Lubbock. On top of that, folks need to know you were the lead singer and guitar player of famous, legendary, "The JR'S". A lot of folks don't know what a rocker you really are! It's that..."sports guy" facade that throws everyone off. Oh sure...you know the stats of every athlete the world has seen in the last hundred years. Little do your fans know you can play and sing "Cat Scratch Fever"...backwards...in Spanish...and with your feet! You're a man of too much talent, that you don't exploit NEAR enough. Just what you needed...one more "Ghost Of West Texas Past" to end up on your friends list. Fear me, loathe me...for I am a lone, die-hard Red Raider fan, living in the land of burnt orange. Speaking of...when we play the Longhorns, come down with Leach. I'll take y'all to a place where the girls know as much about their college football as they do their pole dancing. Trust me...you'll love it. Adios, amigo....
