InfluencesEvery drummer I see, including the ones who aren't very good playing at some hole in the wall dive in central MN. Really I am inspired by them all, in some way. We all have a diferent perspective and I'm always trying to be a student, I'm inspired by all the musicians that I see. ok, ok...If I had to name 5 in no particular order: Sting, Vinnie Coliuta, Steve Smith, Steve Gadd, Stewart Copeland... Ok 7... Manu Katche and the drummer for G. Love and the Special Sauce

   About Ryan Inselman
I started out playing Trombone in 5th grade...The person doing the music testing said I had long arms. After truly annoying my parents with constant glissandos, they let me cancel the rental on the trombone. Started playing drums in 8th grade... First drum set my senior year in HS. I got way into marching percussion (drumline) and did that non-stop through my sophomore year in college. Decided I was to be a band director. I studied concert and ethnic percussion for 5 years at St. Cloud state University. Graduated with music education degree that I never officially used. I've taught privately for many years and have ultimately decided performing is more for me. I've been a part of the MN music scene since '97 when I played with a local band, Fade 2 Shade. Since then I have worked with Mike Terrio, Honey Wagon, Don Douglas, Dear Jupiter, Jesse Lang, Beautiful Trigger and many others. I have now found a home with G. B. Leighton. I still keep my days busy with studio work, percussion clinics and some public school music education programs. I am to the core, a percussion dork.

So I have somewhere around 235 songs for your list! I'll stop there for now. Some have cool breakdown beats, some just have cool beats. But they're all valuable I think.

Awesome cd!
Especially "Streets Of Brazil", "Off The Beaten Path" and "Body Grease".
I've listened twice though the disc while in the edit suite yesterday and today. Very eclectic.
