Ryan Lamey is an acclaimed Canadian singer and songwriter based in Manchester, UK. While renowned for the spellbinding and personal acoustic performances that continue to elicit the praise of his peers and critics alike, he is equally known for fronting Manchester's Faker Junior, former Manc-pop band Sloganeer and co-fronting Canada's Queencab.
Sandman Magazine hailed him as a "textured vocal genius [with] brilliant emotional resonance. Shades of Buckley, Radiohead and Elbow creep through the enthralling repertoire fronted by an effortless skip through a plethora of ranges that at times even served us up Michael Stipe." (issue 142).
“Ryan’s got a fantastic voice – great lyricist.” said Martin Coogan (Mock Turtles, Salford City Radio).
Designer Magazine wrote “Just as we were getting bored of male singer-songwriters in Manchester along comes Ryan Lamey who single handedly makes the careers of Stephen Fretwell and Liam Frost pretty redundant. His style is reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright and Jeff Buckley only filtered through a huge pop filter.”
Ryan is currently recording and gigging with Faker Junior whose debut EP “Need To Know” was released in June 2009.

The Mostly Acoustic gigs down at Nexus and the monthly Mostly Toast nights at The Green Windmill are going really well. We've had some amazing musicians playing some great music.
