  • Bio

Born upon the windswept shores of South West Scotland to Swedish Parents Ryan Lauder discovered music at an early age. By the age of 5 his family moved to the remote island of Faro in the Baltic Sea. It was here that he was classically trained on the recorder and picked up his first guitar. In 2008 he moved back to the uk and so far has opened up for acts such as First Aid Kit, I am Kloot, Johhny Flynn, and has just completed an American tour with folk troubadour Langhorne Slim. It was rumoured that one fan in america said to him "wow, that was actually not bad at all." With not even one official release, a buzz has already started about Ryan Lauder with many people in Bars saying he is the next Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens and Bette Midler. Ryan's band consists of pedal steel, cello, upright bass, and drums and his set ranges from soft folk numbers to high energy americana. "It's simplest to say that Ryan Lauder sounds a bit like Damien Rice. But it isn't completely accurate. Lauder, captures the same stark beauty of Rice's songwriting, but instead of crushing, it feels sincere, hopeful, even moving. And that makes all the difference." -Boise Weekly. Idaho USA .... ..

Its mainly just myself but when i am lucky i am joined by my talented friends that i am truly greateful for...The stunning Leise Fleet is often by my side on Cello. The unique Jim Widdop provides the waves of sound in the form of the Pedal Steel. Tom Gent stradles the upright bass. Sometimes managing to reach notes that no one else has ever heard or thought possible, even if they are the wrong ones!
