'The absolute outright winner was of course local songster RYAN WHITMORE. Ryan will have a prime slot on the Sugarmill Stage on the 30th May at Britannia Stadium - so do come and support him.' - Love Music Hate Racism competition final.
'Third on stage was Ryan Whitmore, with an acoustic set that matched up to any artist that I have seen locally. Although the crowd was not as enthusiastic as they had been to with previous acts, it did not make a scrap of difference to his set, and he did win them over in the end. Some well-written lyrics that seemed well beyond his years were delivered with outstanding confidence to his acoustic guitar. ' - Stoke sounds.
'He seemed to sing real songs about real life. 'White faces in the snow' is a good example, about people who are suffering the ill effects of alcohol! He had a very full sound often missing with acoustic players, probably helped by having a 12 string guitar and very polished songs' - Love Music Hate Racism competion heats.
'He has a fine mature singing voice and puts his melodic songs across very well.' - Steve Dean, Stoke Sounds
For those of you that don’t know me, my name is Ryan. I consider myself a spokesman and an artist. I was born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, in the Midlands. I feel this is relevant. It has a lot to do with who I am as a person and perhaps more importantly, as a songwriter. I come from a working class family and I too have done my fair share. I write what I know and my lyrics form the basis of my songwriting. I’m am currently aiming simply to get my music heard by as many people as I can. I feel as a songwriter the best you can do is express your opinion in a sincere way and make your voice heard. I also write the odd song about a girl :) Hope you like what you hear and keep a look out for my upcoming gigs, both in sunny Stoke-on-Trent and Brighton. Also check me out on Facebook. Cheers people.

Hi Guys really enjoyed your set last night. Check my space, there are a few quieter numbers that I wouldn't play on a Saturday night, they are more for a Blue Monday. I see that you are playing at the blue cat on 11 july I 'll ask Danny if I could support you again if that is OK, cheers Simon.
Congratulations on last night mate. You were quality. Well deserved. Look forward to seeing your set at the LMHR festival. Hopefully my slot isn't too shit! lol. All the best.
