RY EDWARDS plays guitar and sings. RY writes all of his own stuff, but sometimes seeks guidance from his Muse/Wife, Elisabeth. RY does all his own Record and Mixing and Album Production and is also in charge of Booking. So when you call, please ask for "Ry." Thanks.
Influences
I could tell you that my favorite songs are "Tonight, Tonight" by the SMASHING PUMPKINS, "Over the Hills and Far Away" by LED ZEPPELIN, and "I am a Rock" by SIMON AND GARFUNKEL.
But my biggest Influence is much more obtuse than the music I like. Music is such an experience for me--When I think about my music, I think about holding my breath.
You know how when you hold you breath everything starts to slow down and suddenly a minute seems to take forever? My goal in music is to capture that kind of feeling. I want to take three minutes of your life and give you the experience of lifetime.
As you know, Life is this amazingly complex gift that nobody can understand from the outside. But the beautiful thing (and sometimes the hardest thing) is that you get back whatever you put in to it.
I love to Rock. I love to be Sad. I love to be Happy and I love to Love.
And in return, God has given me this gift of music so that I can share it with everybody. So now I have to put my Life into my Music and then put my Music into your Life.
BUT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY OF THAT! One of my favorite experiences is Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata." But there are so many fantastic songs like "Brick" or "Evaporated" by BEN FOLDS FIVE, or "Yesterday" and "Norwegian Wood" by the BEATLES, or "Say Goodbye" and "Crush" by the DAVE MATTHEWS BAND.
The SMASHING PUMPKINS still have a bunch on the list: "Today," "Geek USA," "Rhinoceros," "Soma," "JellyBelly," "ZERO," Thirty-Three," "Bullet with Butterfly Wings," 'In the Arms of Sleep," "Galapagos," Muzzle,"
OTHER INFLUENDCES include
Collective Soul, NATHAN KALMOE, Garbage, JOE NICOLA, Live, NIN, STP, Butterfly Boucher, JARS OF CLAY, Stuart Davis, DAN SCHWARTZ, The New Radicals, THE NEW PRIMITIVES, Everclear, DUNCAN SHEIK, Edwin McCain, METALLICA (From "Kill 'Em All" to "Reload"--"Ride the Lightning" is my favorite Album), Davis?, JOHNNY CASH, Neil Diamond, THE EVERLY BROTHERS, Creed (they had one good album--My Own Prison), CHRIS RICE, CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival), Eric Clapton

RY EDWARDS learned singing by first listening. His eclectic tastes exposed him to all kinds of music such as: Choral, Celtic, Classical, Punk (Think "Ramones" and "The Clash" as opposed to "Good Charlotte"), Motown, Rock and Roll (Chuck Berry, Jerry Lewis, the Beach Boys, Three Dog Night, the Loving Spoonful), Classic Rock, (CCR, Zeppelin, Clapton), and old country (Johnny Horton, Johnny Cash, Roger Miller).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------He's sung in several of Choirs and been in Musical Theater, but has been singing rock for several years. He sang in a Rock Cover Band called "Tatyocean" doing Tom Petty, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Creed, Derek and the Dominoes, Van Morrison, The Doors, Pearl Jam, and Soul Asylum.

Ry began writing poetry as a high school freshman. The next year his uncle gave him a guitar and soon he was playing at school variety shows.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In college, people began inviting him to play Art Fairs and outdoor Barbecues with other great artists. There he met long-time friend, guitarist, Joe Nicola. Certainly the names RY EDWARDS and JOE NICOLA will continue to be seen together as their fan bases grow.
I'll be on radio. I'll be at Vera's. You can be anywhere. Plug 208. 109. 24. 34:8020/listen. pls into your browser or go to TwinCitiesRadio. net. Better yet, show up on the patio with the sun going down. 2901 Lyndale S. Wednesday, August 20.
Hey, Guys, if you're not doing anything on the 5th, Sunset Blue is rocking out at Bunkies in Chisago City from 9:00 to 1:00, so come on out and party with us!
Oh, by the way. You old the record for most posts on my wall in 2007, with eight, and also have the distinction of being the only person to post in 2007. Also you have the longest posting streak, nine.
You gonna have a show anytime soon? Also, sometime next month you'll have to come hang out at my new apartment. (It doesn't come with beer, but I can rectify that unilaterally)
Wow Ry, Thank you so very much! I can't tell you what that means to us...really. Check the page again. We are slowly adding material from our new EP soon to come out and we have the first track back. t:
