About me:
The Rymanowski Brothers Orchestra is celebrating its 60th year of being a "family" band. The R.B.O. was founded in 1947 by John and Alex Rymanowski. The original band was made up of 9 musicians. They immediately became very popular and played every Saturday night for 10 years straight at St. Michaels Pavilion in Cohoes, N.Y. In 1950 they recorded on the Decca Label. Since then, they also recorded on Stella, Lamb and Sunshine records. In the early 70s, Dennis and later Gerry joined Dad John and Uncle Al as members of the band. Al Rymanowski died in 1982 and John passed away in July 2001 at the age of 89. The current band is made up of Dennis Rymanowski - Drums and Sax, Gerry Rymanowski - Bass, cousin Bob Drozd - Clarinet, Sax and Drums, in his 25th year with the band, Brent Wheat - Trumpet, now in his 33rd year with the band and Jerry Romanowicz - Accordion, the newest member in his 9th year with the band. The Rymanowski Brothers are still the Capital Districts most popular Polka band and have been a cornerstone in Polka music for more then half a century.
