Recently, I had the distinct pleasure of working with S1NGLETON. I had never been a fan of the new Pop/ Punk genre, but these guys brought something different to it. Thru the screaming monster guitar riffs, the Keith Moon style "explosive" drumming, to the sometimes comical, but always heartfelt lyrics (one of my favorite lines in ANY song being from "Burial," "Disembowel me, 'Cause I think I hate my guts anyway") , they set themselves apart from any of the other bands in this field. I loved working with them. They were open to new ideas, they were very well rehearsed, and they are some of the most insanely fun guys to be around. They've learned alot from the "Old Skool" Punk bands I grew up loving...i.e. Rancid, Social Distortion, Ramones, Me First and the Gimmie Gimmies, NOFX, ect. Yet they have their own sound, and it freakin' ROCKS! One of the best sessions I've ever been in. Everyone was rolling on the floor laughing and sharing in the good times. Which is very important when cutting tracks, because if you can't have a good time, then why bother? And, I think the good vibe transferred to the recordings. Wonderfully talented, not at all pretentious, very driven and ready to take on the world. Here's to S1NGLETON! Keeping TRUE Punk Rock alive!
