Well well, what can I say, the name Tross came from my previous stage name "Albatross" I just shortened it up a little ya know. Why did I pick that stage name? It's such an odd name for a rapper isn't it? Well I'm an oddity myself, let's see much like most of us who are musically inclined, I've had heavy burdens to bear my whole life. It just seems like this black cloud follows me wherever I go, if only I could just pass it on to someone else, which one of my friends (including you, yeah you, the one that's reading this!) is going to be nice enough to take it from me? The answer to that is, none of you! Why would I want someone to take my black cloud, that cloud is my inspiration, those heavy burdens may hurt me, but what doesn't kill me... only makes me stronger. How about that cliche! Now, for those of us who pick a dictionary from time to time, we know that YES an Albatross is a bird, BUT, it is also a "heavy burden." I just got to get this off of my chest for a second... I HATE ALL IDIOTS! You know, those people who hear "Albatross" and the first thing that pops into their heads is... "Oh, isn't that a bird" How about I flip you the bird, how about that you fucking idiot? So for the sake of my sanity, I shortened the name to "Tross" And how come nobody asks what a "Jadakiss" is, Huh? Rap nickname is "Shag" but I don't want too many dudes calling me that and thankfully they don't, lol.
Now I got started in this rap thing at an early age, around the age of 6 I fell in love with thing called Hip-Hop. And the crazy thing is, it was Salt-n-Pepa's "Push it" that made me love it. After that point I was hooked, I started listening to everything... Eric B. and Rakim, Boogie Down Productions, LL Cool J, Salt-n-Pepa, N.W.A., and the list goes on and on. Back then, it was hard as hell to get a record deal if you weren't nice on the mic, today.... well today is a different story. But anyway, I was in love with this form of music , but it wasn't until I heard "The Magnificent" by Special Ed that I decided to write my first rhyme. Needless to say... it was terrible, but it was a progression. That rhyme sparked something inside of me, it was at that point in time that I knew what I wanted to do with my life... entertain.
Today, I am currently working on my first (official) album entitled "This is... ME!" The reason I say that this is my first (official) album is because I have released music independtly in the past but nothing on soundscan, this will be my first soundscanned recording. In this album, you will get me and nothing else but me, if you've known me for more than 10 years, then you may hear a few surprises on this album. If you've known me for less than 2 years then this will be your crash course on "Tross 101." After this album, my fiancee /slash/ ex /slash/ girlfriend /slash/ ex again /slash/ girlfriend part II /slash/ probably future ex for the third time /slash/ probably future wife /slash/ probably future ex-wife /slash/ probably the woman that I re-marry to, should be able to know me a WHOLE hell of a lot better. And no, I'm not bs-ing about the whole fiancee /slash/ blah blah blarity, this is actually the girl that's been in my life for the past six years. She is my ultimate inspiration, whenever we're broken up... EMCEES BEWARE those hot 16's are coming at your head. Whenever things are going great, I'm focused on making actual songs. So if another mixtape drops from me then chances are me and her are broken up again, isn't life lovely? Funny thing is, she's one of my friends on this here myspace thing, she doesn't comment on my page because she kind of sort of stays out of my *ahem* my space (lol) and I stay out of hers.
What would an emcee be without a crew... NOTHING! I've been rolling with my crew for a long time now, we have music recorded but nothing to make an album yet, but give us time and we'll give you a classic. For those of you who don't know let me spell it out for you, THE INTERNATIONAL CONS! This group consists of Me, Bex, Kurakazi-Majeed, Scorpion, Big Duke, Phoenix, UniKrawn, and Spaceman on the production. We are always bringing in new members because we are trying to get a strong unit of emcees and producers to help with the movement of B-More Hip-Hop... WE SEE HOW ALOT OF Y'ALL IS DOING IT OUT THERE, AND WE AIN'T TOO IMPRESSED, LET US IN THE DOOR AND WE GONNA SHOW YOU SOMETHING, B-MORE BABY! Now that I'm done with the Ghetto-fied rant, continue to enjoy Tross' space, and I promise you that some new music will be up soon as well as updates on the album, shows, and video shoots.
