| The DOWNUNDA THUNDA RADIO '2008 Independent Music Showcase, over the weekend 1st & 2nd of November 2008 was held to celebrate the 1st Birthday / Anniversary of Downunda Thunda Radio which began world wide broadcasting on the 1st of November 2007.
In all 23 Bands and artists appeared on the showcase over the two days. The music was excellent all weekend with all acts putting in a professional and polished performance, sound man Brad Scott-Kemmis from HOTMIX Audio did a stellar job mixing the various genre that were presented and over 28 out of the 48 hour period the party never waned.

Downunda Thunda Radio would like to extend a special thanks to all the artists, bands and acts that gave up their time to appear on the showcase. A special thanks goes out to the behind the scenes operators who helped make the event the success that it was: Drum City Music City Sydney, Gary Page Signs and Graphics, HOTMIX Audio, The LIVE HOUSE Venue and our volunteer crew who helped with the pole posters, band load in and general roustabout work, without you none of this would have been possible.
Downunda Thunda Radio is proud to be associated with such professional and conscientious people who appreciate that good music and good times go hand in hand. Regardless of the events in the past weeks Downunda Thunda Radio is here for the long haul and will continue to support independent music and artists without compromise or favour or political bounds.
Without you we wouldn't exist and we thank everyone of you that has expressed thanks to us for being here and doing what no other organisation has achieved so far.

POWERAGE WIN GBOB
Downunda Thunda Radio would like to especially thank one particular band who came along and presented a great performance at the showcase.
POWERAGE, who after appearing at the DTR Showcase went on and won the Global Battle of the Bands Final (Australia) at the Sydney Hilton Hotel last Monday the 3rd Nov '08. They now go into the world final to be held in the UK next month. Downunda Thunda Radio and, as we are sure, all of Australia are wishing the boys the best of luck. Waving the flag for the Land of OZ on a world scale is no easy feat but these guys have the goods and it would be great to see them come home with the gold. More proof of the Thunder Downunder taking the world by storm.
