Do you ever wonder where all the great rock bands have gone? A tock band that makes you want to put your middle finger up! SABATTA are that band!
Led by extrovert frontman Yinka, this 3 piece (Hugo – Bass, Matt – drums) manage a rare marriage of mayhem and melody that has gained them a formidable reputation on the live circuit - SABATTA are simply one of the very best bands out there! As part of their extensive touring they’ve rocked stages supporting acts as far apart as Slaves To Gravity (Best British Newcomer Kerrang Awards) to Pete Doherty to an exclusive performance to a capacity crowd at the uber-hip London arts/club experience SHUNT.
But SABATTA isn’t just a great live act and with the release this November of the album EMPEROR’S NEW CLOTHES (the follow up to their debut release PRINCESS RAW, 2007) and the taster EP DIDN’T C IT (out now) the band is out to prove that! The songwriting on the new disc is at once introspective and highly relatable and with two bonus tracks – including an acoustic track, SABATTA display just how much weaponry they have in their artistic arsenal. With the vocals that range from hauntingly vulnerable to menacing Jack Daniels growl, super heavyweight guitar riffs and bass and drums locked superglue tight, musically the band are truly on top form!
Recorded exclusively at Gizzard Studios by Ed Deegan, former engineer at the legendary Toe Rag Studios(White Stripes), the songs for the new album were put down the old way – live on to tape! This let the band capture as much of their live energy as is possible into recorded form! It’s dirty, it’s raw, it’s real – it’s SABATTA! The album includes the 4 tracks from the EP sand many more and also has features from Shay (from rising stars Cherry Brakewells) and Art Terry.
