BIOGRAPHY
After many years of playing in rock bands in Europe as well as in New York City, Vlado Kormos decided to create own unique signature style. He teamed up with a partner, Jana Steiger -- who plays the role of the gothic witch in his most recent rock opera project. Together, they began experimenting in his home studio.
"The results", says Vlado, "were so good that they even came as a surprise to me!"
The end result of the experimentation led to keyboard compositions that contained classical european symphonic sound mixed with heavy modern tunes. The sound was atmospheric, unique and dying to be developed.
Kormos believes that music can teach and inspire people in the essentials of how to live on the earth, love, and forgive. But he also notes that music can teach an individual how to be evil and promote hate. His project would fair on the positive side, with theatrical, intellectual lyrics in addition to mood-striking sounds." There is
always something philosophical behind each of his compositions -- which causes the listener to become contemplative, as well as entertained.
Inspired by a legend from his hometown, Kormos went on to write many more songs. By 2006, he had collected so many compositions that he thought it selfish not to share the messages and melodies of what was to become Sabinas Rex -- A Rock Opera
**********************Building the Kingdom of Sabinas Rex*************
Kormos knew that such an epic project would take tenacity, time, hard work and a little bit of luck. And in order to achieve his dream he would have to find collaborators. With that luck, Vlado met Teodor Lvovsky -- a drummer who had toured and played at rock arenas around the world. His flamboyant style and advanced technique -- along with his taste and power -- was an impressive force to be reckoned with. They immediately began working together and Lvovsky was instrumental in helping Kormos build the band. Together they auditioned guitarists without any luck until late 2006. It was then that Lvovsky discovered Vladimir Ouchakov from Eastern Europe. Ouchakov had the melodic riffs and rhythmical and technical sense that they had been looking for to carry the project forward.
Finding vocalists was a more difficult task for Kormos because the rock opera demanded many different vocal styles due to its diverse characters. He had already decided to use the powerful contralto sound of Steiger for the role of the gothic witch -- but many other voices were needed to continue.
The first to be cast was Baron Misuraca for the role of the villain. His deep, clear theatrical gothic voice and look were a match. Shortly, thereafter, the handsome Ulysse Borgia came onboard for the love interest role. His roots in classical Italian opera and his rich wide baritone sound worked well with the symphonic metal. Then came Cara Lynn Robinson, a New York singer and performer with lyrical and theatrical writing skills. After enjoying recording a demo, she was delighted to take on the role of the main ingenue character and went on to record more songs for the project. And finally filling the role of royalty was Marcel Salansky -- a colleague of Vlado's handpicked for his gentle, delicate voice and king-like qualities.
Armed with a story, cast, musicians and numerous musical and historical influences, Sabinas Rex was ready to rock. "The classical epic/symphonic sound combined with today's rock and heavy metal is a beautiful mixture of the old and new world that we live in." Even though the keyboard's analog atmospheric pads remind you that this is 21st century music: Sabinas Rex is very much an old world fantasy with majestic, royal and gothic sounds. It will take you back to the time of kings, honor, magic, and the struggle of everyday people with good and evil.
With all this collaboration and hard work, Sabinas Rex hopes to succeed in touching the lives of both the young and old with music and passion. With the promo discs circulating the globe, the songs have already been featured in magazines and played on radio stations. The reviews have been coming in as well with the same question: "When can we hear more?" Stay tuned, the journey has just begun!

The Story :
Sabinas Rex is an ancient tale of magic, love, and mystery that
has been passed down from generation to generation in the town
of Sabinium in Carpathian Mountains of ancient Europe. For a
long time, mystics and prophets spoke directly with the Gods,
and all fairies, elves, demons, and witcheslived in peace on
the planet. It was a time when natural balance existed
between the people and their mystical counterparts.
It was not until man had built churches, and appointed bishops
as the only ones to speak with the high heavens, that the
mystical creatures were shunned by society. Gradually,
they've retreated to the Fray—a vast forest surrounding
the perilous Great Rapid River. It was there, that Lord Liev—
a half human and half beast—ruled the night. On occasion,
a few brave men might venture into the Fray, hoping to defy
the legend. Little did these poor souls know of their fate,
for they would never return. The Fray was where demons
and witches waged an endless war amongst themselves,
and should a mortal soul cross their path, they too would
become casualties.
In a small town, to the North of the Fray, there lived
a peasant girl named Sabina. She spoke with the Gods
in secret, and was blessed with the gift of foresight.
Sabina was an adventurous soul and often
spent her afternoons exploring the outskirts of the Fray.
This is the legend of her adventures encountered in the
heart of the Fray, where she unknowingly helped her King
flee from a group of barbarians who'd invaded their Kingdom.
In doing so, she found herself suddenly catapulted into the
middle of an apocalyptic struggle between good and evil.
Where the King , a man of pure and humble spirit, battled
the hostile Lord Liev, with Sabina caught in the middle. And
with the help of the White Witch, she embarked on a journey
to defeat the evils that lurk within the Fray. An epic battle of
virtue and vice ensues, upon which the fate of her people rested.

Pleased to present the first music video for one of the songs, that being for the song "Eel Marsh House", which is based on the movie "The Woman In Black". Wasn't sure to name it that instead of 'Eel Marsh..." ...Eel Marsh House being where the woman in black 'lived', and now haunts it. Though, she seems to haunt the general area of the village as well as the House. If anyone catches her gaze, looks into her eyes....a child will die, usually from the family of the person unfortunate to look at her. As you see what happens to the story's main character at the end.
Hope you like it, that's about all for now, Cheers! Rob
