Soon after meeting the legendary British singer-songwriter and innovative guitar player John Martyn and his recording Engineer Gary Pollitt in Kilkenny back in 2008, Sabrina was contacted by John’s good friend and record producer Jim Tullio. Jim had been tipped off by Gary and John about this amazing singer-songwriter from County Clare, Ireland that they had seen play and insisted that Jim needed to hear her. After checking out Sabrina’s MySpace page, Jim immediately saw the potential and called her to suggest that she visit his studio in Chicago and talk about making an album. This was not the first time that Sabrina’s talent for songwriting and extraordinary vocal performance had been noted.
Sabrina first began writing songs at the age of 21 while living in Australia, and after returning home to Ireland she began to play gigs with the likes of Juliette (Lewis) and the Licks, Damien Dempsey, Paddy Casey and Declan O’ Rourke. Sabrina was then discovered by fellow Irish singer-songwriter, Luka Bloom, who in 2006 asked Sabrina to accompany him as support for his tour which included visits to the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, USA and Australia.
In 2009 Sabrina agreed to fly to Chicago to meet with Jim Tullio, who has produced and written songs with such artists as Richie Havens, Dave Mason, Rick Danko and Levon Helm of the Band, Aretha Franklin, Rosalie Sorrels, Mary Mc Caslin, David Bromberg, Steve Goodman, John Martyn, Mavis Staples and many, many more.
The meeting was a success and they began to work together on what is now Sabrina’s debut album titled “I’ll Learn To Be A Lady” which features 11 tracks, 10 written by Sabrina (5 co-written with Jim Tullio). Sabrina has also recorded a beautiful version of John Martyn’s “Certain Surprise” originally from John’s album “One World” which is a tribute to John who sadly passed away at the end of January 2009, never hearing any of the beautiful music that came from the working partnership that he had helped forge.
Sabs You Devil!!!! How're you doing? I wanted to have a listen but this computer won't download the player necessary...or indeed I'm giving it crap commands so it possibly would download it if I stopped telling it the equivalent of roll over. Are you at home for Christmas?? I know Shane is dying to see you but I think he's too scared to go to Galway in case he get's arrested again!! You're too rock 'n roll for him...he's more used to the o d'ing on tea and brown bread of trad ;-D Anyway, give us a bell if you're at home and bring a copy of the cd with you...love from your BIGGEST pixie fans xxx

Where is everyone? Does no-one leave comments on myspace these days? I'm back here for more - thanks to Gilly reminding me on Facebook just how good Mad For You is. She's right of course (thanks Gilly) but so is John when he says (on Facebook too) that the other three tracks are also marvellous..
Aaaah the same great voice, but this time with brilliantly recorded studio sounds. I love the drum kit sound. The arrangements work well - don't get in the way of your voice (thankfully) - but add so much. I especially love I Learn To Be A Lady.
