22-year-old Sabrina Korva was performing at age 7, on stage singing a duet with Bryan Adams at 13 and co-writing with successful hit makers throughout her teens. This stylish singer/songwriter is about to release her debut EP Hold Onto Myself with songs produced by Jim Huff (Edwin, Headstones), Mike K, CJ Eiriksson (Matchbox 20, Rob Zombie), and Michael Raphael (NEVE).
The title track 'Hold Onto Myself' is one of Korva’s favorites. ''It’s the most fun to play live. It’s basically about someone who’s completely lost their soul and control of their life. It’s a topical theme I think everyone’s seen at some point.'' 'Suffocated' was the first song Korva wrote with songwriter/guitarist/producer Jim Huff. ''The chorus was one of those magical ones that write themselves,'' says Korva, ''it was literally one of us playing the guitar, him singing the first line of the chorus, then both of us singing the rest of it together. As we were writing the song, we both heard the exact same thing at the same moment, it was just meant to be.''
In addition to the incredible producers and songwriters that contributed to her new EP, Korva has worked with Todd Kerns (Static In Stereo, Age Of Electric), Chin Injetti (Snow, Moka Only), Mark Olexson (Matt Good, 54-40), Dean Truitt (Color), Riche Zahniser (SouthBase), Curt Cuomo (KISS, Eddie Money, John Corabi), Kelly Moneymaker (Expose, Days Of Our Lives), Kirk Fotakis, Jason Rowe, Derek Schram (Juice), Sean Kelly (Crash Kelly), MOBILE and Gary Slayton.
Although Korva is greatly influenced by classic rockers Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Queen, Heart, AC/DC and Guns n Roses, she studied classical piano (and some jazz) for 10 years at The Royal Conservatory Of Music. With determination Korva also juggled high school, figure skating, ballet, voice lessons, flute, bass and guitar. Recently graduating from BCIT’s Radio Broadcasting program, working on air at Evolution 107.9 FM and attending festivals like Canadian Music Week for many years, she is learning the behind the scenes music business to prepare for her career.
Korva’s songwriting style has progressed over the years. ''I started out writing pop in my teens, then I got into classic rock and wrote a lot of punky rock songs, and of course went through a metal writing phase,'' says Korva ''now I’m writing a lot of pop/rock again. My style has been influenced by writers I’ve worked with and whatever music I’m listening to at the time, so now it’s just a mix, and I’m more versatile. I love writing, music and melodies especially.''
A regular performer at CrueFest in Hollywood at the Whisky A-Go-Go, Korva has played venues throughout North America, from Kentucky to Nashville to Sunset Strip in Hollywood and back to Vancouver and Toronto.
Throughout her career, Sabrina has had the pleasure of working with:
CJ Eiriksson (Matchbox 20, Hoobastank, Rob Zombie), Michael Raphael (Neve), Guy Walker (Backstreet Boys), Todd Kerns (Static In Stereo, Age Of Electric), Brennan Barrett, Chin Injetti (Snow, Moka Only), Mark Olexson (Matt Good, 54-40), Guido Thylmann, Jim Huff (Edwin, The Headstones), Dean Truitt (Color), Riche Zahniser (SouthBase), Curt Cuomo (KISS, Eddie Money, John Corabi), James Baker (Libido), Kelly Moneymaker (Expose, Days Of Our Lives), Jason Rowe, Derek Schram (Juice), Jim Rogers, Sean Kelly (Crash Kelly), MOBILE (formerly Moonraker), Jackie Carlyle and Gary Slayton.

OUIJA
Is there someone there? Is there someone there? Come talk to us tonight. We’re asking for the dead to speak, It’s only us . . .my wife and me. Come tell us how you died.
The oracle moved about the board A figure-eight reply. The oracle started slowing down, then stopped . . . above the Y.
Tell us more, tell us more, what brought you here to me? Tell us how you died tonight. Tell us when you died tonight. Tell us what brings you here tonight. Keep spelling it for me.
The figure eight continues and around the board it moves. It’s slowing down, it’s slowing down. Come, spirit, talk to me right now, Tell us tonight, because we want to know . . Then the oracle stopped on the letter O.
You’re coming in so very clear, Now tell us why you’re roaming here, on this dark and stormy night. Speak to me, speak to me, Travel through this board to me. Tell us why you sleep tonight beneath your resting tomb. Speak to me, speak to me, speak to me now. Then the oracle stopped on the U.
Y-O-U, Y-O-U, this isn’t making sense. You spelled out, YOU is this what you meant to do? Then the oracle stopped on YES.
