About me:
Call me Brin, most people do.
Let's see, about me...
My last name is hyphenated, though I'm not married. In fact, that's how it appears on my birth certificate. You can thank my mother for that.
I was born to a very strong willed mother who was also a bit of a feminist. In fact, she kept her maiden name. She has a wild creative streak and, what she'd term as "passion," though I'd call it a bad temper. Of course, that was before we found out she had a mild case of schizophrenia.
When she had me, she actually fought my father over my name. Being the feminist that she can be, she insisted that I not only have her last name (the fact that I have my father's name is simply a compromise), but that her last name should come first. Thus, my last name is Trump-Lesprit, though I wish I had either just one of their last names, or else the names were switched.
Most of the time I get remarks like, "Are you related to Donald Trump?" Clearly not. You should see the dump I'm currently sharing with my boyfriend. Lesprit sounds a little like something out of "Interview with the Vampire", but I don't mind that so much. What I don't like is that I found out in high school that my name, as it is written, is actually very similar to trompe l'esprit, which in French, means "to fool the mind." Lovely. Thanks, Mom... Could be worse, I guess. It could be "The mind of a fool" I suppose...
I also had the misfortunate luck to be born on Halloween. This occasionally was a big joke in elementary school.
In any case, I live in a crappy little one bedroom apartment with my boyfriend, Avery, though it feels mostly like I live with him and some of his friends: Jack, Marshall, Andy, and Nathaniel. Yup, I'm the only girl... No, it's not like that...
I started some community college right out of high school, but I couldn't figure out what direction I wanted to go with it. Since it costs money, I "put it on hold" until I could figure it out. That was a couple of years ago. I still don't know. As a result, I have a lot of "One day" statements, though, one day never seems to come...
