Sacha has been djing professionally for about 10 years now. Tricky to pigeonhole his set as it changes and adapts to each new occasion. He likes to mix and link genres together as he believes there's great music everywhere. Its this altruistic attitude that make his sets so exciting, unpredictable and successful.
Sacha feels equally comfortable playing Hip Hop/Reggae/R&B mash ups at warehouse parties and Dance music at raves, as he is rinsing the party classics at weddings. Occasionally, he plays Electro at private views too.
But if you want to catch him at his most cheeky self, head to the "Stranger than paradise" monthly event, which he co-founded and where he is resident dj. This is the place to hear his explosive mix of Gypsy, Cumbia, Ska, Bollywood, Belly Dance, Rock and Roll, Punk, Rhythm and Blues, Swing and French goodies.
Most notable gigs include djing for the After Party at the BBC3 World Music awards (check link on other side of this page), the Cuban Music awards and the Balkan Fever Festival at Cargo. But also djing in support of Ivo Papasov (Bulgaria's biggest clarinet player), the Mahala Rai Banda (One of the best gypsy groups around), Bratsch (Legendary French Folk band) and the Dandy Warhols (Infamous Rock group). In the last few summers, he's djed at festivals like Glastonbury, Bestival, Electric Picnic, Glade and Isle of Wight.
For Dj bookings, don't hesitate to get in touch via this space.
Sacha's done some radio too, on Resonance FM 104.4, showcasing six one hour selections of Latin, African, Middle Eastern and Gypsy music.
He's also been dealing rare records since 1998. Selling difficult to find and obscure vinyl to music producers, djs and collectors. Clients include Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Andrew Weatherall, Dj Shadow, Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) and Jerry Dammers (The Specials). Selling mainly Library records (Music for Televison-Radio and Film use unavailable to the general public) but also Rare Jazz, Soundtracks, Kraut Rock, Post Punk, Electronic, African and Bollywood OST. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you want to know more.
As a music producer, he makes music for Television and Film, mainly for short films, idents, spots, adverts and documentaries. BBC and Discovery Channel being his main clients.
And finally, he occasionally writes for Fact magazine, a free bi-monthly magazine that can be found in all good record shops in England and abroad. Sacha put together with the help of Edo Bouman of Bombay connection, a Top 20 of Bollywood's craziest records in the July and August edition...check it here!
