Sachika is a talented, young singer/songwriter with a polished self produced CD called Brilliant Blue. Raised in the creative, bucolic lifestyle of Cortes Island off the coast of British Columbia, Sachika is joined on her new recording's original song cycle by a crew of veteran musicians who create a sensuous pop sound for her songs of love, loss and longing.
Sachika's album Brilliant Blue was nominated for best album of the year, best singer/songwriter of the year and best song of the year in the Vancouver Island Music Awards.
Sachika is a self taught musicain who plays guitar and piano and you can hear echos of Sade, Sarah McLlachlian, Enya, and European acid jazz diva, Beady Belle, in Sachika's soaring, breathy vocals and hypnotic melodies.
