About me:

http://www.examiner.com/x-4336-Sacramento-Rock-Music-Examiner

Laura Winn is the Sacramento Rock Music Examiner for Examiner.com.

Laura has been supporting the Sacramento music scene for 10 years, beginning with her days joining and then co-running LoCal MuSac, which was the most bad-ass Sacramento non-profit promotions website and zine that has ever been and probably will ever be.

At LoCal MuSac, Laura managed the extensive band links, coordinated with the street team, and wrote for and edited the monthly zine, subscribed to by over 300 readers.

Laura also ran the street team of one the biggest local bands (at the time) the Willknots.

Not bad for a high school student!

Laura's love of writing led her to graduate Cum Laude from Sacramento State University with a Bachelor's degree in government-journalism.

While earning her degree, Laura was hired by Warner Records as their Sacramento rock music scout for Reprise Records, home of her favorite band, Green Day.

Laura also covered the all-ages music scene for Ricochet Magazine and later landed an article on Danny Secretion in the Sacramento business publication, Prosper Magazine.

Laura's devotion to the Sacramento music scene and her work covering it for Examiner.com is truly a labor of love. When she's not slaving away for Examiner.com, Laura stays busy freelancing a variety of articles for magazines and Demand Studios. Her specialty is wedding stories, but she's been known to play a spy for a major music trade magazine.

You never know what role Laura will take on next!

Who I'd like to meet:

Local bands, venues, promoters, scene supporters, and you!
