About Sacred Piercing:

Sacred Piercing is Erie’s Premier Body Piercing Studio. Located in beautiful Downtown Erie, Pennsylvania at 253 West 8th Street (between Sassafrass and Myrtle). Convenient off-street parking is provided in the rear of the building. Erie Metropolitan Transport Authority (EMTA) stops are also within walking distance of the studio.
We offer Body Piercing, Branding, Unique Body Jewelry, Massage Therapy and Henna Tattoos - a temporary form of herbal skin decoration.

It is our mission to provide clients with a piercing experience above any other. We are dedicated to ensuring this upon EVERY visit.

Our focus is customer service and satisfaction. After receiving your new piercing, written and oral aftercare instructions and complementary aftercare products will be provided to allow for an optimal healing process.

Note: At Sacred Piercing, our clients' health is of the utmost importance. Implant grade, high polished, internally threaded titanium and stainless steel jewelry is used for all new body piercings. We are confident in the jewelry we use. Because of this, all titanium and stainless steel piercing jewelry is guaranteed for life.

We understand that the piercing experience can be intimidating, so we strive to make you feel relaxed and at ease. Upon entering the studio, you will be greeted by friendly faces, knowledgeable personnel, and a tranquil reception area featuring central air, complimentary tea and coffee, ample seating, local art and music.

Sacred Piercing carries a wide variety of plugs and tunnels in various sizes made of bone, horn, glass, wood, bamboo, amber, stone, titanium, stainless steel, acrylic, and silicone. Plugs and tunnels come in single flare, double flare, and cylinders.

We also have unique body jewelry such as bone and horn septum pinchers, spikes, and tusks, home girl spirals, wicked spirals, omegas, yonis, and java hoops - choose from bone, horn, wood, stainless steel, and glass. If you are looking for something stylish in a larger gauge, look no further!

High Quality body jewelry is always available. This jewelry is high polished, internally threaded, implant grade titanium and stainless steel. Titanium jewelry comes in many different colors and there are also many colors in gem ends to choose from. Our jewelry is guaranteed for life!

Navel, tongue, lip and eyebrow jewelry are also available.

If you are looking for a specific piece of body jewelry that we do not have in stock, custom orders can be placed and ordered in a timely manner.

About Missy Twohig:

Missy Twohig is the body piercer and owner of Sacred Piercing. She has 8 years experience in the craft. Her body piercing career began at Ink Assassins in Erie, PA in February of 2001. Since then, Missy has continued to further her education and has had the opportunity to study under such body modification greats as Fakir Musafar and Steve Haworth.

In June of 2003, Missy attended the "Successful Surface to Surface Piercing" seminar presented by Steve Haworth. In November of 2004, Missy traveled to San Francisco, California and completed Fakir Musafar's Basic Body Piercing Intensive.

In May of 2005, Missy attended The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. There she completed classes and was educated on topics including jewelry, scars, anatomy body/facial, anatomy oral, employee management, and piercing rituals.

In early November of 2005, Missy assisted with the opening of Excentrik Studio #2 in Montreal, Quebec. Later in that same month, Missy returned to San Francisco and completed Fakir Musafar's Advanced Body Piercing Intensive.

On August 1, 2006 Karma Tattoo Studio opened their doors to downtown Erie, PA. Missy joined Josh (Gentle Josh) Makowski and continued to pursue her goal of opening people's minds and chakras to the spiritual side of body piercing.

In November of 2006 Missy began turning her dream of owning her own studio into a reality. On June 1, 2007, Missy’s dream became a reality when she opened the doors to Sacred Piercing.

On July 26th, 2007 Missy traveled back to San Francisco to study the craft of Branding. There she completed Fakir Musafar's Basic Body Branding Intensive.

About Sylvie Houde-K, C.M.T.:

Sylvie has 7 years experience in massage therapy and is also a trained nutritional consultant. She is the Vice Chairperson of AMTA of Erie (American Message Therapy Association).

Sylvie specializes in Deep Tissue Massage, Medical Massage, Triggerpoint Therapy, Pregnancy Massage, Relaxation, Hot Stone Massage and a blend of Swedish, Shiatsu and Thai Massage.

Deep tissue massage includes slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas of the body. Either following or going across the fibers of the muscle, tendons and fascia. It is a very effective hands-on technique that provides sustained pressure to areas of the body that are painful or restricted during motion. Fascia is very densely woven, covering and interpenetrating every muscle, bone, nerve, artery and vein; as well as all of our internal organs. Fascia is not just a system of separate coverings, it is one structure that exists from head to foot without interruption. Surrounding and attaching to all structures of the body; by releasing tensions in this system we can relax the body as a whole. Due to the more specific focus, this may cause some soreness during or right after the massage.

Trigger point therapy is a technique that involves the applying of pressure to tender muscle tissue in order to relieve pain and dysfunction to other parts of the body. Also this form of massage can help to re-educate the muscles into pain free habits.

Pregnancy massage can relieve tension during pregnancy, help prepare for labor, and make the postpartum period less difficult.

Relaxation massage is just that, a time to relax both in body and mind.
