Sounds Like
If Sacred Soul were a cake, then its ingredients would include about 1 cup Primus, 1 cup Thursday, 1 cup Rage Against the Machine, 1 cup Chili Peppers, 4 Tablespoons Mudvayne, 1 teaspoon P-Funk, 1 teaspoon Weatherreport, and a smidgen of Georges Bizet. Yea, that's right.

Based out of Clarksville, Maryland, Sacred Soul is a blend of heavy-hitting rock and roll, mixed with a little old school funk, and peppered with screamo. Sacred Soul is defnitely not one of your run-of-the-mill bands that are so common today. Each song they compose brings out a different groove, and each musician in the band has their say in the song. The songs are not written in the conventional verse/chorus/bridge, but instead there are intricately layered parts that are carefully and meticulously woven together. One thing to watch out for is the dissonance created by the guitar, bass, and vocals, and the way the bass lines snake around the guitar lines creating a very surreal affect. All the while, the drums hold down the beat while mixing in tasty fills, and the vocals help set the mood with throaty screams, wails that make hair stand on end, and lyrics that really get one to think. Known for their energetic live performance, improvistational jams, and their odd musical backgrounds, Sacred Soul is definitely a band to watch out for.
