This project started with a group of friends that got together to play metal in an association (J.U.L.) located in Lagoa do Furadouro, Ourém – Portugal. The band members were Richard on bass and vocals, Nelson on guitars and Jonas ..boards and guitars. Sometime after Pedro Perdigão joined the band as drum player.
Due to the incompatibility of Jonas had in playing both instruments, Bruno Reis were called to play keyboards on the band, after is growing interest in the group. The project began to evolve and it gave its first steps into what it has become today.
In the end of 2002, a new local to practice was found at the local association (A.C.R.L.) and everything turns out to be easier. Then a new member joined the band, Luis Neves, who became the guitar player and Nelson changed from guitar to bass player, leaving the vocals to Richard.
At this time, the name Sacrilegion came about, when the band members had gained some maturity because before, the project had quite a few problems in concerning of getting members. Following this, the vocalist informed the band his intentions to abandon the project, leaving once again one place to fill.
Meanwhile the band was invited to participate in a festival in 2004, and the answer “no” was not an option. It was imperative to find a new vocalist end some time after J.P.S. joined the group to occupy the spot.
From that moment on, had and has been done a work of composition with some concerts in the meantime. This project culminated in December 2005 with the first demo recording of the band, featuring four tracks, 1- Beyond the gates of despair,2 - Veneration of the disciples above,3 - Caverns of obscurity and 4 - Morbid creation. Some other songs were left out, but they wait the same or even a better opportunity, and hopefully as an album.

Boas! Apos algum tempo, reuniões, etc. os Ciborium chegam a uma conclusão, os membros que nos têm estado a ajudar a acabar o album não poderão continuar na banda, não e por falta de vontade deles mas as suas vidas tomaram outros rumos e prioridades!
Aproveito tb para lhes agradecer aqui o trabalho efectuado com a banda, que foi muito e muito desgastante nos ultimos meses, obrigado
