Sad Colossus are a band from the Kirkcudbright area and play a style of music which is very hard to describe. Often described as "alt grunge" or as 'melodic grunge with a twist of lemon' as disclosed by bassist Wullie Swales, their sound changes from very psychadelic to very depressive. Despite comin' from a rather undisclosed corner of the universe they have played such places as Glasgow (from the 'Garage' to 'The Vale'), Kilmarnock, Dumfries, the Wickerman festival acoustic stage in 2004 and humble old Stranraer. They've also won the 2005 Battle of the Bands in Stranraer. A band with a very unique sound...always good, we believe. MyHeartInSoundScotland 2005

Estrella are into the competition to play at the O2 Wireless Festival. The top ten finalists in the competition get to play at the 02 Wireless Festival. The winner receives a £5,000 bursary and gets to play on the main stage at the 02 Wireless Festival.
Over the next week the public can vote for the band of their choice on the O2 website. The higher up the ratings, the more likely the band will get noticed by the judges. The judges will pick the eventual winners at the beginning of March and the public get to choose the eleventh "wildcard" entry.
