Hi Saddos, Those were the days eh?
Documentary was good but the bit about there being no scene was wrong! Who could forget the gigs, the parties, the bushwalks, the hassle!! Bruce Wayne band made their 2 songs up in the studio:)

Cheers lee, and well done DRs guys.

Literally, this music was in a shed on the moor... you can see the story of Sad Day We left The Croft in the video on this myspace page... it's only 27 minutes, but it's a small, perfectly formed tv documentary masterpiece in its own right.

But really, the music courses through our veins and rises in the succeeding generations who are all making Stornoway a really vibrant music scene all these years later. Young music dudes and dudettes we salute ye!

We did this here:

Anyone who wants to buy a copy of the CD re-release can order it here:

We'll send it right away!

My good friends the Dun Ringles of Stornoway sent over a couple of copies of Sad Day for my listening pleasure...and WOW! A hit in the San Francisco office iTunes network already and some serious listening time slated for the near future. Fav tracks so far: Love or Lust by the Dirty Girls and Paradise by the Subjects. This one playing by the Bland (Passions)...that's fantastic too. Where has this music been all these years?

Cheers man! There is not a huge amount of gaelic on the Sad Day - a late 70s stornoway way of being gaelic you uderstand! which is why we descibe it a hebridean - but "Aon Dha Tri Ceithir Union Jack thallas cac!" may well be the most gaelic thing on a record anywhere!!!

happy birthday when it comes. meal do naidheachd
