James Phillips (mandolin), Mike Dixon (guitar), Tom Desroches (bass fiddle), Troy Mcarthur (banjo) . . . . & we all sing!!
Influences
Some guy James went to school with... can't remember his name . . . & . . . Doc Watson, Charlie Patton, Leadbelly, Bill Monroe, Jimmie Rodgers, Flatt & Scruggs, Son House, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Tuesdays, our mothers . . .
Saddle River began as a Summerside, P.E.I project, taking their name from the Canadian cult film "Road To Saddle River". Playing strictly for fun, the group explored the traditions of Old-Time country, Bluegrass, Ragtime, Pre-War blues & North Americana Folk Music . Their enthusiasm carried over to their audiences and the group began to take on a life of it's own, eventually becoming the member's main focus.
Their set consists of Bluegrass standards, Old time country, Delta blues, and Original material, all filtered through the groups unique sound and vision. Booming through a single tube condenser, the group's four-part harmonies, instrumental abilities, and charismatic stage performance have made them a hit with audiences far and wide.
