  • Bio

Paul Cooke Biography: Triple Platinum Recording Artist Paul Cooke of Sade fame. Some people refer to Paul as a legend after he formed the Band Sade in 1982 with two fellow musicians from his home town of Hull in the North of England. '' I have been involved in the music industry since I moved to London when I was 17years old to get involved in the music scene. I formed the group Sade in 1982 along with two other musicians from my hometown of Hull. I worked on the music for two years shaping the arrangements and drum parts, as a group we played the songs live around the world to promote the project, the album was released by CBS and I realized my dream of playing on Top of The Pops in 1984. The product has gone on to earn CBS & Sony over 10 million pounds since its inception. After forming Sade in the early 80's I went onto manage my own 13 piece Latin Jazz group Esposito, signed it to Zarjazz (Madness) - Virgin - produced the music with my old friend Mark Bedford the bass player from Madness. We went onto play the Albert Hall with the band and the Madness session crew at one of Sky's first ever livemusic broadcasts from London. Esposito was hunted down by London Records, Zomba et al and I negotiated all the deals on offer and liaised with all concerned. I also setup a company to promote groups the PR Clark Agency and I spent some time involved in the live music scene in London until the late 80's. Along the way I continued to work in music production, writing and did some session work, singing back up for Madness's Hit single Uncle Sam amongst others. Further to this I setup an indie label IVI Records Ltd in the UK in the 90's. Established P Eye Eye an experimental music group, signed to TIME Recordings based in Nottingham in 1995. In the noughties I spent some time working with Rolan Bolan in the UK and negotiated a deal with a UK label working closely with Seth Freidman, Black Eyed Peas'' Manager. I own Diamond Life Recordings & Paul Cooke Music
