Sadhak Hearst is a modern balladeer, a singer-songwriter whose music evokes the spirit of the great Romantic poets fused with original melodies.
Originally from Australia, for many years Sadhak played Bass in bands touring Australia’s vast terrain. From playing alongside Tiny Tim to opening up for AC/DC, Sadhak’s musical versatility has taken him around the world. With his unending passion for music fueling him on, he has broken the Guinness Book of World Record endurance record for playing musical instruments on seven occasions. He has held the world record for continuous guitar playing (313 hours). In addition, Sadhak set the Guinness Record for the One-Man-Band when he played three instruments simultaneously for fourteen days.
Some of his strongest influences include the Beatles, Nick Drake, Sufjan Stevens, Donovan, Dylan and Suzanne Vega.
Sadhak has written poetry for much of his life, citing Shelley, Keats and Byron as well as ee cummings, Kahlil Gibran, Rabindranath Tagore and Jelaluddin Rumi as major role models. Beginning with Dylan Thomas’s “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night”, Sadhak has used many of his favorite poems as song lyrics.
He has one CD entitled “Songs from the Mist, Moon and Stars” and one book of poems: “Dances With Elves and Little Footprints Left in Snow”. He has many songs yet unrecorded and is planning on a second CD to be released very soon.
