Sadhara are Kathy Burke (guitars and vocals) and Iwan Hendrikx (drums). Sadhara are a unique project in the sense that Kathy and Iwan live in separate countries - the United State and The Netherlands - but come together in complete harmony (or distorted brutallity) to create a special sound.
Sadhara began in 2003 with a five song demo written and recorded by guitarist and vocalist Katherine Burke. With blazing melodic guitar passages, banshee screams coupled with soaringly clean vocals, the demo was a red headed step child of an underground metal scene where metal had to be married to the suffix "-core" to be accepted in such an ever changing and fickle musical climate.
The demo was a surprise success, and in 2004 Sadhara attracted the attention of Dutch drum virtuoso Iwan Hendrikx. The one woman project now transformed into a duo, the musicians produced their first full length album "To Hell, With Sympathy" in 2007. The self produced CD was welcomed to great reviews all over the world, including Guitar Player Magazine, and included on several top 2007 metal release yearlists.
If you would like to purchase a copy of "To Hell, With Sympathy", it is available on Sadhara's web site. PayPal and credit card purchases are accepted.
With a promising future ahead, Iwan and Kathy are currently writing new material for another CD.
Thanks for accepting the add! It's a pleasure to meet you!

You can record two guitars simultaniously and all kinds of other effects and amp models are included, check it out. Also hows life, havent talked to you for awhile, is the album going good??
I saw Katherine's talent back in 2000 when my band happened to be on the same bill one night. This girl can fuckin shred. I still listen to the old EP from SHEOL today and dig the fuck out of it. Im wicked happy to see shes rippin away, and nastilly i might add. I'm feelin that BLISS song alot. the part "come my child and I'll show you bliss" "take this knife in your hands" "TAKE IT" and the build scream into "CUT" fucking brutal. cant wait to hear more from you two excellent work
Long time no see, eh, hear. :-) But times are becoming busier again, as my list of reviews has become longer again. Anyway...
* Raw demo: absolutely awesome, great riffing, tempo. I like it!! * Cemetary Tango: what a voice! There's something enchanting/mystical about it. Oh yes, the music's good, too, obviously. * Prince of Faces: dito. Nice soloing, and quite long. :-) You rock, girl!
As much as I like your clean voice, somehow some rough vocals would fit too, no? Maybe not everywhere, but still...
I'm very positive here and that may sound like butt-kissing or whatever, but there's no special thing to criticise. Well, improvements can always be applied, but I also like the "raw" sound of your music. You couldn't add demo tracks like these to the final release version of the EP or album, could you? ;-)
Looking forward to it all, btw. Keep it up and take care.
Long time no hear. Well, seems like we're both experiencing busy times. Anywaaayyy..
It's good to hear new material. Cemetary Tango is a song that needs a few listens, but it's definitely good. I even think some keyboards might fit in well and complete the compositions. Also, your voice has something mystical, charming and enchanting (sort of bewitching, but that's a bit extreme ;-)) at the same time.
The Dark That Binds is also good, seriously, but the lead guitar when you chant "the dark that biiinds" is a disturbing factor, if you ask me. Other than that no complaints. I particularly like the riffing when you're rebuilding after the slowdown and calm interlude at 03:20 or something. Maybe you could have made the drums go fast, as in Thrash or Power Metal fast, with double bass drums. ;-) That would give the song more power and energy. The du-du ending via the kickdrum could, for example, be done via the toms or snare+china. ;-) Just my humble opinion.
The Legend Of Metaruman: an instrumental, yay! Nice guitarwork, ofcourse. :-) Will this be on the forthcoming album?
Keep up the good work, have a great weekend and take care.
Hey sweetheart hows it going? I came to listen to your songs because your magnificent. In that time I clicked on one of your blogs and found your website.
I then found your demo and absolutely love it. I thought it was newer material and was shocked by how good it was but then I found out it was old, 5 years old.
I am so impressed with your talent and completely jealous of your natural abilities hahaha. You are a huge inspiration to me and the new album is going to be so freaking good I feel like a lil kid waiting for Christmas. I am going to buy both of your albums when I get the chance no worries.
Did you mix and master all your own material in the past??? I am curious because your quality and and volume levels are all so right on and that seems to be difficult for me to accomplish, mastering is going to be the hardest thing for me on the album. I know I am a newbie and we all have to start somewhere but I am very picky and want it to be as perfect as it can be, maybe you can give me some advice??
do you record all your stuff on one guitar with one tuning??
I have found that by using different guitars and different tunings along with different styles of metal on each song its very difficult to bring them to a equal medium. I will get as close as possible but feel that I'm just not there yet.
I hope you can enlighten me since I truly look up to you and respect you not only as a wonderful friend but as a fellow passionate musician with a desire to succeed.
Hope you are doing well and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
Damn thats a long sneeze, I haven't written you on here because I am waiting for your second part, maybe you were joknig and Im to gullible haha. I miss my kathereeny though so let me know whats cookin good lookin.
Well I hope I inspired you to think as much as you did me. I love having deep conversation as you probably know by now. I don't waste my time with people that don't offer me food for thought.
you offer me a freakin buffet of sugary goodness so thank you:)
Hoepfully you got my other message and will get back to me when its best for you.
Talk to you later sweetfart, I mean sweetheart.
Jeff
xoxoxo
I am going to check out the guys art by the way, Just had to wait until I was done rambling haha, Ill let you now another time since I already wrote you a freakin encyclopedia on the correct way to wipe your bum:)
I know you cancers live in the past and thats hard on you and your relationships but if you find a way to grow from that then you are truly taking advantage of your cancerian ways.
People always think they need to be exactly what astrology says they are. They are wrong. Astrology is only there to tell you what not to do. Its giving you a head up before you make the mistake and cause yourself pain.
I dont actually believe astrology to be the stars speaking to us, I more think of it as the dogma that is so universal that it talks to every human no matter what sign they are, just like tarot cards. They are purely magical but its in the writing not the universe. So many magicians over the ages have shown examples of this and they dont ruin the magical meaning behind it but actually make it more powerful.
If you except that you are to be a person that lives in the past and never has a happy home life then you will. When you see that you are better then that and you can strive to be different then you will be.
They say that a Gemini's next stage is a cancer and for you its leo, now that only happens if you overcome the obstacles in this life. Do I believe this?? In a way but not the exact way of what most people think, I believe it in the way I recently explained to you. Its teaching you and for you to grow you have to let go.
Anyways blah blah blah, praise satan I mean santa and lets eat cupcakes for dinner cause the meat is frozen.
Katherine you are awesome in every single possible way no matter if you think the same way I do or not, I am fond of you and all that you are. You strive to do the best with your life you can and I truly look up to you for that.
In my eyes the people that strive to do what they love no matter what and are successful are the true satanists in my eyes. Im not exactly saying you are but to me you are doing what I believe a person should do with there life.
