In 2007 a circus ringmaster captured three feral children - two from London, one from Portsmouth- and entrapped them in a big top tent for 6 months. During this time he forced them to make fairground music on primitive
instruments (drums/keys/guitar), before releasing them back into the
wild. Emerging from beneath their matching fringes, the trio decided to
unleash what they had learnt on the world, going on to support Los
Campesinos!, New Bloods, Lovvers, The Research and Jenny Hoyston. They have toured with kindred spirits Vile Vile Creatures.
After nearly two years we have decided to call an end to Sad Shields. We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who liked us, put on a show for us and/or bought our cd. Special thanks goes to Vile Vile Creatures, Natalie, You're Smiling Now But We'll All Turn Into Demons, Lovvers, Elaspe-O, Corey O's/Local Kid, Chaps, Steve (for the great road trips) and the Pop Underground (that means ALL of you).
Other bands have sprung from us. Check out INTERNET FOREVER, KEYBORE and BLOODY KNEES who are playing and gearing up for bigger things.
