The story so far...
2005 saw the birth of Sadstoryending, a screamo/post hardcore band hailing from the Great British countryside, formed by three close friends with a shared love and passion for music. The first few months were a very steep learning curve for Joe, Danny and Luke, being young, and almost alien to the music business, they expected everything to fall cosily into their lap. They were soon to run head first into a big shock when they agreed to play an out-of-town gig. Upon arriving, the three discovered that the ' venue ' was infact, a run down old pub, complete with old man and dog. A fair few disappointing gigs like this were to follow. This may have been a shock for the three, but by no means did it dishearten them. Their determination would pay off a few months, and many gigs later when they were playing at Birmingham University and to a sold out crowd in Leicester alongside new friends, Herinnocence, Black Box Diaries, and Glitch. It was soon the new year, unfortunately, Luke was to depart Sadstoryending early 2006, in search of different things. The departure was made on extremely good terms and the three are still just as close as they were before. After a few months writing rough songs Danny and Joe were joined by friend Pete. Since Pete's arrival, the three have been locked up in a rehearsal room, working on songs for a new E.P which should be available in winter/'06.
Here we are, 2007, and we're sorry to say that Sad Story Ending is no more. The new EP never came and the hunger died out. Many thanks to Peter Wright for helping to resurrect the band and to Joe Whittemore for adding something fresh but it just didn't work, things never felt the same. Sad Story Ending played their last show on the 13th January 2007 at the Town Mill in Mansfield with the original lineup. It felt the best way to end it and we want to thank all the people who came down to watch us. Who knows, maybe this could have taken off but it seems now that we'll never know. We cant thank all the people who supported us on this journey enough, you just cant imagine what it meant to us. We also want to thank all the people who helped us behind the scenes; Mick, for taking us under his wing and helping to guide us, Chelle, Sara and Sammie for carting us around, we know we didn't say this there and then but we really did appreciate it so much, Black Box Diaries, for being like a 'big brother band', thanks for all the shows, they were amazing, you are amazing, all the best guys, all the other bands we have graced the stage with and last but by no means least, you, every one of you who has either travelled to watch us or just listened to a track on this profile. This was probably the best adventure of our lives. We'll see you another time, another place.. Thankyou xx
