AFTER 12 MILLION INTERNET VIEWS, ACTORS/WRITERS/COMEDIANS DAVE AND TOM ARE NOTHING MORE THAN GEEKS Web Comedy Series SAFETY GEEKS: SVI on KoldCast.TV LOS ANGELES, CA – April 27, 2009 – After more than 12 million collective views of their assorted videos on the Internet, professional actors, writers and comedians, Dave Beeler and Tom Konkle, are really nothing more than geeks – Safety Geeks that is. Today marks the debut of Safety Geeks: SVI, their ambitious new web comedy series about the comic adventures of a semi-elite force of safety experts – the Professional Occupational Safety Hazard (P.O.S.H.) team, an investigative team whose obsessive mission is to probe and scrutinize accidents to find out what went wrong and who is to blame. The series, starring Beeler and Konkle, features more than 1,000 effect shots, more than any web series has ever tackled, and more than the first three Star Wars movies combined. Without question, Geeks becomes the first web comedy series to feature this many effect shots and the number is close to what audiences enjoyed in The Matrix Reloaded, which had 1,100 visual effects shots. “While the P.O.S.H. team’s motives are pure, their effect is disastrous, as the team inevitably leaves a trail of chaos and destruction in their wake,” says producer Konkle of Pith-e Productions. “What’s the P.O.S.H. team like? Imagine Frank Drebin (Naked Gun) and Inspector Clouseau (Pink Panther Films) working together to solve a crime. Despite their well-intentioned efforts, and the resulting trauma that results, they always inadvertently solve the crime. That’s the P.O. S.H. team!” Enter Reginald Singen-Smythe (played by Beeler), a retired-at-birth billionaire playboy whose family manufactures the Return key used on computer keyboards around the globe. At age 25, an incident at an unnamed 5-star restaurant forever changed his mission in life, sending him to Tibet to learn the ancient subtle arts of safety. When Reginald had his one and only inspiration to create a safety team, he turned to Budwin W. Yacker (played by Konkle), former head of operations for OSHA; the government agency that regulates safety. Budwin’s need for safety was fully imprinted when, as a young boy, he witnessed his father’s decapitation as he fell through the plate glass window of Budwin’s safety awareness project at school. The P.O.S.H. team is rounded out by the beautiful, yet bookish, Dr. Randi Minky (played by Brittney Powell), a curvaceous Harvard graduate with a past, who worked her way through college stripping while loudly, and accurately, profiling the male members of her audience. Discovered by Reginald, the good doctor joins P.O.S.H. and a triangle of tension develops between the characters as Budwin and Randi awkwardly find their way together to Reginald’s puzzlement.
