Hi. My name is Johnny C. from the Greek, and Greek I am. My parents immigrated here, and I grew up mostly on the East Coast. I am really a simple guy who likes music, soccer, nature and hangin' out.

I am very proud of my Greek heritage. My family comes from Nemea, if you know us, please give a shout out. Maybe you have heard of the The Temple of Zeus, Heracles and the Lion of Nemea or our wines. According to Time Life, Nemea is the foremost wine making place in all of Greece. My father's people have vineyards and grow grapes make wine, but I have enjoyed wine from all over the world.

My other grandfather, Nick Lymberis, was a poet. Some people say I get my writing abilities from him. I hope that is true. Almost everything I've written has been influenced by my experiences either at the time or from as much as years earlier. In fact, one of my songs "Crowded House" is based on an experience I had in Nemea. I went to my father's house that had been burned down by the Nazis three times. My grandfather tried to rebuild 3 times; he never got to finish. Not long ago, I returned to see it, but I didn’t have a key. I broke into the house. I was there for about a half an hour straining to see in the dark. I found some photos on the wall, a silver cup and my grandfather's ID card.

When I came out, Panagioti, our neighbor said, "what are you doing there!?! That's not your house!" Panagioti hadn't seen me since I was a boy, and he didn't recognize me. He was an old man. I put his mind at ease and explained clearly who I was. His anger turned to joy when I told him, “this is my father's house and I came back to take a look at it.” He gave me 2 bottles of wine and asked me to photograph him so my father could see him. I brought these things home with me and gave them to my father.

It is little adventures such as these which are at the root of my lyrics and music. I have always loved music, been involved with it. About 10 years ago I got involved with a group called Common Thrill with a friend Neil Bowman. In that time there have been been many band members, drummers and bassists and performances and there has been both evolution and revolution in style, performance. In order to accomodate my style, I find I need an additional outlet for music. This is where my solo project Johnny C comes from. For the moment I can say, CT is not over. But I'm focusing on the solo thing now and making CT my side project instead of the other way around. As I emerge with Johnny C I will bring you my most private and my favorite songs. By that I mean those I write daily or on my way from my bed. To the shower in the morning, I may pick up a guitar, violin, or hop on the piano for 20 minutes or even 5 and play for a long private moment and sometimes I have a song in 20 minutes lyrics, melody, chords. I don't schedule time to write but at odd moments I find myself writing. Sometimes I just dream it up in my mind and then when I get to a piano I work out the details. I hope you enjoy them. As I said, they will be here in 2009. Until then I hope you will continue to enjoy the work I did with Common Thrill and may continue to do as Johnny C and the Common Thrill.
