We are Sagewind, an Alt/Folk Rock duet from Long Island, NY, and recently returned to NY after spending 4 years in central CT. We’ve been playing together since late 2001 when we met at an open mic in Huntington Village, NY. Soon after, we started out playing local coffee-houses and bars in the New York area.
Our first CD/Demo, "Windfall", was released in June, 2002. In May of 2004, we completed our second release, "NightTripper", an EP. Our latest full-length CD, “Ripple In Time” was released in March of 2007 and is available to buy on our website (link through this page).
Ranging from rock (alternative, jam, and classic) to folk, roots, and alt-country; many of our songs tend to be introspective with organic arrangements and production and eclectic instrumentation. Our songs have received airplay on college and internet radio across the US, and have been consistently downloaded.
Members are Athena (vocals, guitar) and Sean (guitar, mandolin, drums, percussion, and harmonica). As always, we are continuing to write new material and playing with ideas for our next release. Be sure to check back with our Music page on our website for bonus demo tracks we plan to post periodically.
