Nato a Tel Aviv (Israele), Sagi Reitan, in arte Sagi Rei, esprime nella maniera migliore l'indole del suo popolo. Infatti, se da una parte è legato alle proprie radici culturali e religiose, dall'altra è desideroso di esplorare, vuole fare nuove conoscenze e vivere nuove esperienze. Dopo aver trascorso la propria adolescenza nel suo paese d'origine, Sagi decide che anche per lui è giunto il momento della “diaspora”. E così parte per il suo pellegrinaggio intorno alle capitali europee, dove inizia a confrontarsi con nuove realtà socio-culturali, cercando nel frattempo di migliorarsi musicalmente, grazie alle sue innate doti e alla potenzialità, forse trasmesse dalla madre che era una rinomata musicista e concertista nella propria città natale.
Trascinato dall'entusiasmo giovanile che incontra nella scena cosmopolita europea, Sagi arricchisce il proprio bagaglio culturale, mettendo in relazione la spiritualità orientale con l'ebbrezza tipicamente occidentale di vivere il divertimento. Senza mai tralasciare gli studi di chitarra classica, Sagi, durante il proprio cammino di formazione artistica, inizia a frequentare la scena notturna delle diverse metropoli europee rimanendo affascinato da alcune produzioni dance-oriented che gli ricorderanno per il resto della sua vita le esperienze vissute in questi anni.
Nella metà degli '90 arriva in Italia dove decide di stabilirsi ed intraprendere gli studi di medicina all'Università di Brescia. Ed è proprio in Italia che Sagi prende coscienza delle sue capacità musicali ed artistiche, mescolando le varie esperienze vissute con una nuova crescita artistica, in un paese dove riesce a essere più libero di esprimersi e dove finalmente riesce ad avere più occasioni per fare “musica”. Entra così a fare parte di un coro gospel a Milano, con cui gira l'Italia. Parallelamente comincia, a piccoli passi, a costruirsi una credibilità come cantante solista, inizia così la sua avventura che lo porterà, ben presto, ad esibirsi nei principali locali del nord Italia.
E' proprio in uno di questi locali, e durante una sua esibizione, che viene notato da Cristian Piccinelli, produttore affermato a livello internazionale, che oltre a renderlo “voce” di alcuni suoi progetti lo introduce nel magico mondo della dance presentandolo a produttori del calibro di Mario Fargetta (per il quale interpreta “People On The Beat”), Diego Abaribi e Mauro Marcolin (proprietari anche dell'etichetta Melodica). Ma è dall'incontro tra questi ultimi e Max Moroldo (Do It Yourself) che nasce l'idea di creare un progetto innovativo che possa sposare i due “mondi” che ormai fanno parte del bagaglio artistico di Sagi Rei: il pop e la dance. L'indole intimista di Sagi, la sua splendida e versatile voce, formano un connubio perfetto con gli strumenti acustici (tra cui l'inseparabile chitarra classica) tanto amati (e suonati) dal talentuoso artista israeliano.
Nel 2006 esce il suo primo album “Emotional Songs” e i dodici brani che alla fine ne faranno parte sono: "Your loving arms" (Billie Ray Martin), "All around the world" (Lisa Stansfield), "Freed from desire" (Gala), "Right in the night" (Jam & Spoon), "Rhythm is a dancer" (Snap), "L'amour toujours" (Gigi D'Agostino), "Show me love" (Robin S), "Crazy man" (Blast), "Free" (Ultra Natè), "Gypsy rhythm" (Raul Orellana), "What is love" (Haddaway), "Wrap me up" (Alex Party).
“Emotional Songs” riscuote immediatamente un'incredibile successo, tanto che Sagi Rei è suonatissimo dai maggiori network radiofonici nazionali, presenziando di persona (accompagnato dalla sua insostituibile fidanzata a 6 corde: la sua chitarra!) nei più importanti e seguiti programmi radiofonici, spesso deliziando gli ascoltatori con veri e propri mini concerti. Il passo dalla radio alla televisione è breve (è più volte ospite di importanti trasmissioni televisive nazionali come CD:Live) così come quello che lo porta a varcare i confini del nostro “vecchio stivale”. Dopo varie tournee, tra cui quella della Miller (Miller Tour), Sagi si dedica alla promozione del suo album nel resto del mondo: Emotional Songs infatti viene pubblicato in più di 15 nazioni tra cui Stati Uniti, Canada, Germania e Spagna, dove diventa una vera e propria star.
Nel 2006 gli ottimi risultati di vendita ottenuti con l'abum “Emotional Songs” portano ad un riconoscimento speciale consegnato a Sagi per le oltre 50.000 copie vendute in tutto il mondo.
A dodici mesi di distanza dall'uscita del suo ultimo lavoro “Emotional Songs part 2” e dopo una trionfale annata che lo ha incoronato, nel mondo, l'indiscusso “re” della dance targata Made In Italy (sua la voce in Shining Star di Get Far e Baba O'Riley dei Cube Guys) SAGI REI torna a far parlare di se e questa volta lo fa in una veste totalmente nuova.
L'idea di realizzare un progetto inedito che potesse rispecchiare la vera anima di SAGI era già nell'aria ma quando nell'estate del 2007 uno dei suoi produttori, Max Moroldo (Do It Yourself Music Group), contatta l'editore di due grandi autori inglesi Gary Barlow (front man e autore dei Take That) e Eliot Kennedy (autore di tutti i successi delle Spice Girls, Brian Adams, Five e Blue) quello che era un sogno inizia giorno dopo giorno a divenire realtà: un solo demo, un solo brano… DON'T BE SHY, abbastanza per capire che dal quel momento la vita e la carriera di SAGI sarebbero cambiate.
DON'T BE SHY viene scelto come singolo d'esordio del terzo album (il primo di inediti) e brano di punta dell'EP: TRILOGY!!!

Born in Tel Aviv (Israel), Sagi Reitan, aka Sagi Rei, perfectly reflects the nature of the Israeli people. To one side he get on to his cultural and religious heritage, to other side he wants to explore and undertake new experiences. After having spent his youth in his native country, Sagi decides that the “Diaspora” time has come for him too, so he starts travelling around the European capitals, where he has the chance to face new social and cultural backgrounds. In the meanwhile he keeps on improving his musical abilities, that he heritages from his mother, a well known musician in Tel Aviv.
Enchanted by the enthusiasm he meets in the cosmopolitan European scene, Sagi enriches his cultural training, combining his oriental spirituality with the western night-life excitement. Keeping on his studies of classical guitar Sagi starts to attend the night scene in the different European cities and he's enchanted by some dance oriented productions that will mark these years for all his life.
In the middle of 90's Sagi arrives in Milan where he joins a Gospel group and he starts touring with it all around Italy. In the meantime he starts his first steps as lead singer, and this is the way his adventure starts, an adventure which will bring him to perform soon in the most important clubs in the North of Italy.
During a performance in one of this clubs Sagi is noticed by an internationally known producer Cristian Piccinelli who wants his voice for some of his productions and brings him to the magic world of Dance introducing Sagi to producers like Mario Fargetta (for which he interprets “People On The Beat”), Diego Abaribi and Mauro Marcolin (owners of the label “Melodica”).
But it's cause of the meeting with them and Max Moroldo (Do It Yourself) that borns the idea of an alternative and innovative project that could mixes the 2 worlds which are the core of Sagi's artistic training: Dance and Pop.
His superb and versatile voice and his private temperament give born to a perfect union with the acoustic instruments (through which the must classic guitar) so loved (and played) by the talented israeli Artist.

“Emotional Songs” obtains an incredible success, indeed Sagi Rei is played by the most important italian network, also with live concert (everytime with his “six strings girlfriend”: his guitar!). The passage from radio to television is short (he is guest in the most important TV-shows as CD:Live), then he's ready to win the heart of listeners around Europe. After some tournee, among which the Miller Tour, Sagi dedicates his-self to promote his album all round the world: Emotional Songs will be released in more then 15 country among which USA, Canada, Germany and Spain, where he's considered a real star.
In 2006 the good results of sell with the abum “Emotional Songs” lead up to a special award gave to Sagi for more then 50.000 of records sold all over the world.
By now is elapsed an year from the debut of Sagi… the time to repeat is coming!
The basic idea is the same: to give a new dress to dance music's hit, but this time, the 2 producer Max Moroldo (DIY) and Diego Abaribi (Melodica) exaggerated! Not only dance, but also house music… not only voice and guitar, but real songs re-arranged with piano, strings, percussion and drum…
After one year after the release of his last album “Emotional Songs part 2” and after an incredible year where he has been crowned the "king" of dance Made In Italy (his voice in Shining Star by Get Far and Baba O'Riley by Cube Guys) SAGI REI strikes back, but this time with a new style.
The idea to realize an inedited project which could reflect the real soul of SAGI was already in the air, but in the summer of 2007 one of his producer, Max Moroldo (Do It Yourself Music Group), got in touch with the publisher of Gary Barlow (front man and author of Take That) and Eliot Kennedy (the author of all the hits by Spice Girls, Brian Adams, Five and Blue) the dreams begin to comes true: just a demo, one only track… DON'T BE SHY, it was enough to understand that the life of SAGI REI was changing.
DON'T BE SHY become the single of his third album (the first of inedited tracks) and the single of his first EP: TRILOGY!!!
