I’m a Zimbabwean-born singer/songwriter living in the UK. I’ve been singing and writing lyrics for a long time, one of my oldest memories being sitting around with my dad on guitar and writing spontaneous lyrics around the age of twelve, and even before that - playing outside in the warm Zimbabwe sun, swinging on the swing outside, and singing my lungs out at the age of about five... but this has all been intermittent...
When living in Zimbabwe I performed cover versions of many popular songs, at many events, particularly fashion & modelling shows and even at the Miss Zimbabwe contest in 1996 for a capacity crowd of 3000, plus national TV audience. I also was the resident performer at an Italian restaurant, singing oldies that were popular from 1950’s - 1970’s with a brilliant and talented pianist, Chris. I’ve worked with the great Alton Edwards, recording a love song called ’Let it Go’, my first experience in the studio. Another one of my first studio experiences resulted in a compilation album called Impressions of Africa. A combinatoin of many vocal talents and African sounds and melodies, it will bring nostalgic feelings to anyone who has spent any amount of time in the warm African sun. Feel free to listen to samples or download tracks from the album on iTunes.
Currently I’m working on recording the song that got me to the semi finals of this years UK Songwriting contest, called "Goodbye Playa". I’m also performing around London and the UK, doing various performances to gain more exposure and bring my talent to the world. I would love to make connections with people who can facilitate experimenting with my sound, in genres such as UK Garage, bashment, R&B, pop, soul, jazz...

It was a pleasure - you've got a beautiful voice and I am sure you will have a great career as a session singer even if you DON'T become bigger than Britney (!), Joe x
Hey Michelle great to see you getting out there! You have such a lovely voice - I remember those days in Archies when you used to sing. Good for you girl xx
Guess I'm the first to write a comment on your page, huh!! It was great talking to you the other day, now you just need to send me pictures of the nephew and niece and I'll be happy.
