Sahara Piksie is a dancing gypsy minstrel who travelled this beautiful planet for 15 years without stopping...except to hover occassionally like a humming bird, soaking up the nectar from the sweetest people and places!!! mmm... She studied art and photography and taught herself belly dance and music since a young age-playing guitars, whistles, percussion and singing harmonies... The album-"Random Acts Of Violet" was recorded over 1 month in Peru-using a local loco studio in someone's living room!!! All the artwork, photography,music, lyrics, arrangements and mixing were done by Sahara, including all the instruments and voices...(except for 1 guitar part, 1 violin part and some of the fiddly computer bits!!!) This album has been sold at live gigs and on street corners across the globe EVERYWHERE!!! Whilst travelling the world she formed "I FELT THE ELF" singing ancient Celtic, Breton, Traditional English songs and those collected from every country and in every language. Also "DESERT GYPSIES" with Guy Tiram-where she played percussion, sang and belly danced-performing ancient Hebrew, Bedoin and Arabic songs. Since returning to Israel in 2007 she has collaborated with Hidai Liberman to create SAHIDA PROJECT-a combined performance of 2 singer/songwriter/musicians. And together with Elyasaf Bashari and Yishai Ben Yaacov (TERRA ROSSA) performed extensively throughout the country. In 2009 she won Best Belly Dancer in the TRIBAL Category at the INTERNATIONAL BELLY DANCE FESTIVAL In Eilat. She has danced with many of the top GYpsy Spirited Bands in Israel-Including TOMER YOSEF, GEORGE SAMAAN, SUMSUM, BALKAN BAMACHSAN, NOMAD, KING DAVID'S STRINGS, LA VACHE QUI RIT, BAHARAT GROOVE, SABAYA, SAHARA DESERT GROOVE, TERRA ROSSA...
