Saidandsung is Carla Rose Fisher, a freelance writer (saidandsung.com) and award-winning songwriter who resides in Westchester County, N.Y. When it comes to her music, she goes by saidandsung because the focus is on the written word and the sung word -- not Carla as an artist. And because she's got some lovely co-writers whose talents she just loves to trumpet when all is said and sung.
Born in Erie, Pa., her song "From You I Learned" won first prize in the ASCAP/Lilith Fair Songwriting Competition. A member of the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop (Advanced), Carla’s lyrics have been performed in benefits and concerts throughout New York City and regionally, including the York Theater’s NEO 2 Concert; the 21st Annual NAMT Festival of New Musicals; the 17th Annual NAMT Songwriter’s Showcase; Monday Nights, New Voices at the Duplex; Arts and Artists at the NYPL; BMI; Unsung at the Zipper Theatre; Musical Mondays Musicals Tonight; the Pittsburgh CLO Cabaret; and Baldwin-Wallace College.
from DEFINING I by saidandsung:
I was supposed to be a boy, and I love long underwear. I am an artist, I am an athlete, I am a words dork, I am human. I can throw tight spirals but I can't cook like my mother or brothers. I can recite Old School rhymes. I collect hats, friends and Sinatra ornaments. I am a diehard. I am a film buff. I appreciate you pausing long enough to read this. I love writing in code, and I talk trash. _... .._ _ | .. | _._. ._ _. | .._ ... .._ ._ ._.. ._.. _._ _ | _... ._ _._. _._ | .. _ | .._ ._ _.

you are so sweet. thank you so much for the card. and that book is hilarious! it looks like both of us on the cover! thank you for thinking of me. it really touched me!
So, in your "about me" it says you can't cook to save your life (or something like that). I happen to know that you make a mean macaroni and cheese.....with a special ingredient!
it's my due date. there's no baby yet. i'm baking ricotta pie for easter.
i'd love to give you one, but i'm hoping the rolling of the dough will send me into labor, so if you want one, you'll have to find your way out to long island to pick it up. :-P
