Bio:

Founded in 2004 by keyboardist Markus Bohr, German melodic power metal band Saidian featured the talents of singer Markus "Angel" Engelfried, guitarist Rodrigo Blattert and original bass/drum rhythm section Manuel Glassmann & Stefan Dittrich. Things moved rapidly in the Saidian camp as the guys released their debut album, For Those Who Walked The Path Forlorn the following year. This record was promoted by a full European tour with Jon Oliva's Pain. The Savatage mastermind liked the band so much he contributed guest vocals on their following album Phoenix, which was released in September 2006. Those sessions included former Primal Fear / Sinner drummer Klaus Sperling, a mighty replacement to fill the throne between the departure of Dittrich and arrival of current percussionist, Bernd Heining (Chinchilla). Hitting the club and festival circuit, Saidian's meteoric rise peaked with an earth shaking performance at the first Magic Circle Festival in summer 2007. But there can be no light without the dark and the group encountered a few stumbling blocks as bassist Manuel Glassmann quit amidst other business snafus. The silver lining in that dark cloud was Glassmann's replacement, bassist Stefan Lüddemann, a metal scene veteran who cut his teeth along side players that would go onto prominence in bands like Helloween & Pink Cream 69. Stabilized with the strongest lineup to date & the support of their new label, Swedish/American Blistering Records [Bloodbound, Jorn, Almah, Starbreaker] the band cut its blazing new album Evercircle. The recording took place between March - September of 2008 with the talents of German producer Axel Heckert, (now also Saidian's live engineer). Evercircle showcases a broader musical spectrum for Saidian including a mix of headbanging anthems, melodic rockers, powerful ballads and the band's first cover song, the 1981 hit, “Tokyo” from the German hard rock band of the same name (later known as Craaft). One listen to songs like the mystic “Solomon’s Dance,” the powerful “Pale Moon Rider” or the barnstorming opener “Out Of The Shadows” & you’ll hear what the European festival scene has been raising their ale horns to for half a decade. Komplettiert vom Ausnahmesänger Markus ”Engel” Engelfried, Gitarrist Rodrigo Blattert und der original Rhytmusgruppe Manuel Glassmann und Stefan Dittrich konnte man bereits im Jahre 2005 das Debütalbum For Those Who Walked The Path Forlorn veröffentlichen. Promotet wurde das Album auf einer Tour mit JON OLIVA’S PAIN. Der SAVATAGE Mastermind war von den Jungs so beigeistert, dass er spontan zusagte auf dem zweiten Album ein paar Guestvocals zu übernehmen. Phoenix wurde im September 2006 veröffentlicht, leider mußte sich die Band kurz davor von Stefan Dittrich trennen und so trommelte ex PRIMAL FEAR/ SINNER Schlagzeuger Klaus Sperling das Album ein. Mit ex- CHINCHILLA Trommler Bernd Heining fand man jedoch schnell einen neuen Mann hinter der Schiessbude. Zusammen mit ihm konnte man einige Clubs und Festivals beackern, dessen Höhepunkt mit Sicherheit der Auftritt beim ersten MAGIC CIRCLE FESTIVAL war (Teile der Show sind auf der Festival DVD zu sehen). Danach lief der Vertrag mit dem alten Vertragspartner aus und man fand mit dem schwedischen Label BLISTERING RECORDS (Lion’s Share, Bloodbound, Jorn, Almah, Starbreaker) ein neues Zuhause. Leider trennten sich die Wege der Band und ihres Bassisten Manuel Glassmann zu dieser Zeit. Sein Ersatz hört auf den Namen Stephan Lüddemann, ein alter Szene Veteran, der schon in den Achtzigern mit Mitgliedern von PINK CREAM 69 & HELLOWEEN zusammen gespielt hat. Mit ihrem bis dahin stärksten Line-Up wurde zwischen März – September 2008 zusammen mit ihrem Produzenten Axel Heckert (auch der Livemischer der Band) das neue Album eingespielt. Evercircle zeigt die ganze Bandbreite des SAIDIAN Sounds. Headbanger Stoff, Melodic Rocker und powervolle Baladen, hier fehlt es an nichts. Auch nahm die Band zum ersten mal eine Coverversion mit auf ein Album. Die Wahl fiel auf den 1981er Hit ”Tokyo” der Band TOKYO (später bekannt als CRAAFT). Wenn man Songs wie das mystische ”Solomon’s Dance”, das groovig, kraftvolle ”Pale Moon Rider” oder den hymnisch schnellen Opener ”Out Of The Shadows” hört weiss man, dass mit dieser Band auch in Zukunft zu rechnen ist.
