Some nice people have said some nice things about Sailmaker
"....the charm slowly unfolds ... Joel's voice glides across this song. Give it a few listens and you'll dig it."
Richard Kingsmill, Triple J
"Beautifully crafted acoustic pop as gentle and caressing as a hot mug of cocoa at the end of a night, Sailmaker is the perfect come down after a night on the tiles. Joel Connor’s sweetly rounded voice is high and dreamy, neatly counter pointed in just the right places by some cleverly arranged harmony blocks. It’s amazing just how easily that churning down stroke guitar chug perfected by the likes of Robert Smith translates to something as lyrical as this, as Sailmaker takes us for a stroll through the moonlit forests and along the weed-strewn beaches to that first innocent kiss".

A really nice indie pop song (Branches) that shows a progression from the last track they posted. The production is warmer, the playing is tighter and they are lots of interesting moments in the song writing. Nice stuff.
4/5 - Dan Buhagiar, triple j
Sailmaker make music that would sound right at home in a mid-1990s Triple J playlist, slotted in nicely between Jebediah’s “Harpoon” and Something For Kate’s “Captain”. “Build A Fire” is the very sweet title track from their most recent EP and is all clean guitars, handclaps and plaintive vocals.
Sophie Benjamin-Who the Bloody Hell Are They
.....Build A Fire showcases exactly what Sailmaker are about. smooth sounding guitars and floating vocals backed by a tight and groove bound rhythm section, my attention was grabbed from the second the hand clapped beat kicked in......there is one thing that makes this record so good and that is the fact Sailmaker don't sound like any other band that is doing this sort of style at the moment.......Best for fans of The Panics or other chilled indie in general......"
