  • Bio

Saint Aside - A name with a lot of meaning and "one of the most promising newcomer acts in Germany." --ROCK HARD, Germany. Saint Aside is a rock band with it's own spirit. It's all about taking the initiative to say something, leaving an impact. The band wants their listeners to: Think twice! This Leipzig-based alternative rock band relies on a multifaceted sound characterized by heavy guitar riffs, catchy hook-lines and an incomparable groove. All of this paired with thoughtful lyrics and a powerful message. In their new Album, "Angel Come", these four guys show how music as a medium, can be used responsibly. Saint Aside's songs are socio-critical yet positive; empowering the listener to find hope in their journey towards a greater meaning. The song, "Angel Come", allegorically describes an avenging angel fighting earthly doom. Figuratively, this stands for the opportunity that everyone has, despite the seemingly social impossibility of it, to begin ones life anew with a clean slate. "Hell Away", is a song about ones inner conflicts between good and the evil, between depression and mental resurrection, or a rebellion against negative entities of thought. "Come to Me", is about showing a friend in need that there is always someone there for them. It is for this song that Saint Aside has released Germany's first Augmented Reality music video. Additionally, among the five other new songs released on "Angel Come", there is a cover of The Knife's "Heartbeats". Inspired by José Gonzales's guitar playing, "Heartbeats" has been translated by Saint Aside into rock. The CD was produced between the fall of 2009 and the spring of 2010. Drums and bass were recorded at "KickTheFlame Studios", and directed by Andy Schmidt (Disillusion, Metal Blade Records). Guitars and vocals were produced under the bands own direction. Finally the recording was mixed and mastered by Alexander Tscholakov (Disillusion, Dark Suns, Myra), at "TAM-Studios" near Zwickau, Germany. The whole production was kept as pure as possible in order to preserve a live sound.
