As a regular fixture in Sydney’s art and music scene, designer Alvin Manalo’s collections are influenced by his music tastes, which span the whole spectrum of indie rock n roll, from The Kinks and VHS or Beta to Interpol and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Signature features of Saint Augustine Academy’s collections are; a limited colour palette, skinny cut denim, and directional tailoring. The label has dressed numerous international and local rock bands for events and appearances – including The Horrors, Bloc Party, Dungen, Operator Please, The Killers, Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, The Rapture, The Bravery, Wolfmother, The Scare, and MGMT.
