Saint Xavier University, Chicago's oldest university, is comprised of two beautiful campuses, our 74 acre Chicago campus and our 46 acre Orland Park campus. Students have access to a variety of on-campus facilities, including 6 residence halls, 7 off-campus apartments, the Shannon Athletic Center, a newly renovated library, chapel, student art gallery, health center and much more.

Saint Xavier is also a nationally recognized "green campus", with two residence halls receiving the LEED Gold designation from the U.S. Green Building Council. The University also participates in the GreenBike Program, offering students an environmentally friendly bike share program. With so many on-campus options, you may never want to leave campus. But with downtown Chicago only 20 minutes away, our students also have a world class city to explore!

Whether you live on campus or commute, you'll have access to outstanding academic and recreational resources. With at least seventy-five percent of the student population participating in co-curricular activities, students can find dozens of ways to get involved. Extracurricular activities include NAIA conference collegiate sport teams, clubs, intramural sports, musical activities, community service, campus ministry, an award-winning radio station and a student government association. In addition, through the “Discover Chicago” program, SXU makes it easy for students to take advantage of the city's inexhaustible source of cultural enrichment, recreation, and inspiration. So, no matter if Chicago is your hometown or you haven't visited yet, we'll help you experience everything that this incredible city has to offer!

Saint Xavier University students benefit from an engaging learning environment. Seventy-five percent of all undergraduate classes are taught by full-time faculty with 85% of those faculty members holding doctoral degrees. Our students find a high level of interaction in our small classroom settings. At SXU, nearly half of the lectures have fewer than 20 students.

An SXU education prepares students for both careers and continued education. The most recent survey finds that ninety-seven percent of SXU students were either employed full-time or pursuing graduate education.

An affordable education presents students endless opportunities. SXU offers competitive financial aid and scholarships; ninety-six percent of incoming students receive institutional aid.

SXU instills lifelong values in students. Ninety-five percent of graduates believe that their SXU education increased their desire to serve others and to help those in need.
