Marijne van der Vlugt (vocals and keyboards)
Paul Kennedy (guitar)
Pete Brown (bass)
Rob Wakeman (drums)
Charley Stone (live guitar, keyboards and backing vocals)
Influences
Paul: "Always remember the three Franks - Black, Zappa and Sinatra. Pixies saved the music scene from a stodgy world of greyness in music. Dark days into which Black Francis, Kim, Dave & Joey shone a torch of beauty. Thank goodness for that! Oh and the two Bs, The Beatles and Beach Boys of course."
Marijne: "Queen for the songs, Freddy for the performances, the Deal Sisters, Audrey Hepburn (she was almost Dutch you know), Polly Jean H and Ravel (Bolero was my very first record along with Queen's News of the World)."
Rob: "The Pixies sent a rocket up our collective arse. The Breeders were gorgeous. And Dave Clarke and DJ Rush made me move like an idiot on the
dancefloor."

The turn around may seem a bit slow at the moment on the songs but that’s because Marijne, holder of all rare tracks, is a bit busy with other stuff so please hang on in there and keep checking.
We're still into knowing what you'd like to hear etc and your stories and any photos or if you know of any incriminating footage out there on You Tube etc.
If you want info or have a request, please drop a line to either Topher or Marijne, who are both known to be fantastic, clever, sexy and generous...
Great to get to know you all over again!

Salad was a UK-based pop group that included vocalist/keyboardist Marijne van der Vlugt, bassist Pete Brown, drummer Rob Wakeman, and guitarist Paul Kennedy. In 1996, Charley Stone (ex Gay Dad) joined the band as a live guitarist, keyboard player and backing vocalist. Thanks to van der Vlugt's amiable, joyous stage presence (along with her notoriety as a video jockey for MTV Europe), Salad gained a reputation as an energetic pop group comparable to other bouncy outfits like Sleeper and Elastica. They formed in 1992 and released three full-lengths -- 1995's Drink Me, the same year's Singles Bar, and 1997's Icecream -- before breaking up in the late '90s. Despite being part of the Britpop scene in terms of sound, they never quite received the same amount of attention given to their peers.
Van der Vlugt now writes and sings with her new band, Cowboy Racer whose song "Yellow Horse" recently featured on the hit U.S. television show, Grey's Anatomy.
