22/06/2009 - A dear friend, Boaz Bar Levi, handed us a video he shot last June of us playing live a double headlining show with Florida's finest, Obituary. We played our last album Necessary Evil in its entirety. This one is track number 8 off the album "Making a Difference". More videos will follow soon. "Making a Difference".

21/09/2008 - Salem has been working on new material. One new tune in particular, called "Heartbeat" is a 13 minute long percussive ordeal that our drummer can not yet play from start to finish in one take. He thought it would be interesting to let you try to nail down a song that has not yet been recorded so drummers worldwide; follow this link, download the drum chart pdf and have a go at this tune. Formed in 1985, Salem is the only rock/metal band in Israel that has been active for nineteen years straight. During which time the band has released three demos, five albums: Creating Our Sins(Morbid rec), Kaddish(Morbid Records), A Moment Of Silence(BNE), Collective Demise(KMG/System Shock) and Strings Attached(Master Disk), two singles: Dying Embers and Al taster, a live DVD: Live Demise, their controversial music has found its way to discussion in the Israeli parliament, band members received bombs in the mail due to their uncompromising ideology to count just a few events in the time line of Salem's existence. In 2004 Salem was the first death metal band in history to play a 150 minute long show. Salem signed a record contract with French monster label Season of Mist. The new album "Necessary Evil" will be released in the first quarter of 2007. On June the band played at the main slot of HELLFEST FESTIVAL in France with bands as Machine Head, Slayer, Blind Guardian, Within Temptation and more. "Salem Underground's" official release date is June 6th, 2008. This DVD is a collection of performances from 4 different shows. The concept for this DVD was to mix the recorded audio (in Stereo) but to leave it un-edited to maintain the rawest live experience possible.
