SALLIE TOUSSAINT was born in Connecticut to Trinidadian parents. She has an older brother, an older sister, and a younger brother.
Sallie’s father was a diplomat who is now retired.
Shortly after being born, Sallie’s parents returned
to Trinidad. Sallie returned to the United States as a pre-teen and quickly adapted to her new culture and environment
where she excelled both personally and academically. She went to the University of Connecticut and later earned a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and Journalism. In school, she began to model,act and sing. This lead to her becoming Miss Connecticut and, finally, Miss USA World.
Sallie is not only obviously beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. When Sallie was in her teens she was driven to do things for other people. She told her father about her idea, and today, Sallie and and her father, built and are running an orphanage in
Trinidad. They have successfully helped place children find loving and caring homes. Sallie helps to support the orphanage with money she earns in the U.S. As an adjunct to the orphanage they provide family counseling and have taken in children and women who were in an abusive domestic situation.
While attending University, Sallie was discovered by her agent Hilory Beckford, the mother of male supermodel and actor Tyson Beckford. Through Hilory's agency, Sallie has been the face of Colgate, Reebok, Coogie by FUBU and also the face of Barcardi Flavors. Hilory Beckford also believed in her very much and pushed her to audition for films and television through her agency.
Mrs. Beckford sent Sallie Toussaint to an audition that would change her life for good. The audition was for a small role in the future Oscar winning movie THE DEPARTED. Sallie was chosen by Martin Scorsese out of hundreds of actresses for the part of The Woman at the Opera in his Oscar winning film The Departed which brought her notariaty.
Sallie is also featured in The Sopranos Season 6 as the Blinged Out Girlfriend of rapper DaLux who befriends Tony in the hospital. Sallie recently performed in the cast of the Vagina Monologues on the world renowned Broadway.
Sallie Toussaint's nick name to many who love her is Aunty Sallie. Aunty Sallie's first dance hit in Europe called UNCOMPLICATED.
