    Rachel's Interests
GeneralInterests? Oh, boy, do I have oh-so-many of 'em, it's like, unbelievable how many of them I have. Way too many, in fact. Check this out. I like movies, music and books as indicated below. I also like cats. They're cute and funny. Sometimes. They can be annying too, some other times. I like the summer. I don't like the winter though. I enjoy biking, walking, swimming, dancing, a cold beer, playing pool, good conversations, cute guys, outdoors music festivals, I love going to live shows (love it! yes, I really do!) another beer, ham, chocolate, pasta, bread (bread rocks), George Clooney, cheese, bunny rabbits, blue eyes, stretchy jeans, platfrom shoes, pants with loads of pockets, people with an accent, long hair, George Clooney, gardening, plants, pork chops, rib steaks, smoked salmon, the smell of cinammon, flannel sheets, milk, carpeting and rugs, puzzles of all sorts (jigsaw, crossword, games). And George Clooney. Video games. I soooooo love video games. Arcade games, adventure games, the odd simulation game, platform games... And I'm pretty effing good at them too. The internets. They're cool. That's why I spend so much time on them. Have I mentioned George Clooney? Yes? Must've forgotten.
MusicWhere to start... My tastes are very eclectic. I've recently discovered Lady Sovereign and am currently liking it although I only heard one song so it doesn't really count. Rolling Stones, ACDC, Bowie, Eminem, Sinatra, Mononc' Serge, Jean Leloup, Motown, the Offspring, the Ramones, Nirvana, the Beatles, Blondie, les Breastfeeders, Téléphone, cheesy eighties pop, CCR, Green Day, U2, The Tragically Hip, the Police, Parabellum, Iggy, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stray Cats, Pink Floyd, a pinch of Gwen Stefani and a bit a cheesy 80's pop here, and a bit of 70's disco there, and the odd bit of techno in between; add to the mix a cup of hip hop, a tablespoon of tacky french songs, half a pound of ska and and two feet of folk. Put in blender. Right click OK. Add soap and select broil. Microwave at high for 72 hours. Serve chilled with olives and one of them tiny umbrellas. Enjoy in the shade with a side of cheddar flavored crushed ice.
MoviesI like old films (Cary Grant, K. Hepburn, etc.) Love love love Hitchcock. Best film ever (for me): The third man with Orson Welles. Some of my faves: Happiness, Tootsie, Dog day afternoon, Memento, Bowling for Columbine, Gone with the wind (OMG there are so many!)Rebel without a cause, the Shining, Awakenings. To name very very few. Cause there are many many more... On a side note, George Clooney is hot.
TelevisionYes. Way too much. Survivor, The Amazing Race, Gray's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives (which is awesome by the way, you should give it a try), The View (yeas, I know it's tacky, but it's surprisingly addictive, you should give it a try). And also Idol. Embarrassing, I know. And Jeopardy. And also 1 vs 100 and Deal or No Deal. And Ebert and Roeper. And the Daily Show and Colbert. And much more. Much worse too. I really watch too much TV. Robson Arms is on, gotta go.
BooksTop 3: 1984, Animal Farm, Brave New World. Love Stephen King, "Mercure" by Amélie Nothomb was absolutely awesome thought Bridget Jones Diary was hilarious, the Da vinci code was a fun read, enjoy reading murder mystery novels (R. Rendell, A. Christie, P.D. James), I like Zola... Otherwise, I'm quite random I guess... Oh yeah, the Riverworld series was cool at the start. And les Fourmis was very good too.
HeroesHitchcock, Orson Welles, George Orwell. Can I throw in George Clooney in here too? He's not exacly a hero, but I do admire him. For different reasons.

This is my MySpace page.
So what, say you?
I am absurdly proud of it, is what.
I have spent a ridiculous amount of time  working on it; in the course of two months, I have gone from complete HTML rookie to full-blown addict, obsessing over a banner, staying up all night to resize a picture, scouring the web for hours in search of that one little tweak that will move stuff a quarter of an inch to the right.
And I have many more happy times to look forward to, since I'm far from being done with it.
And when I'm done with it, I'm scrapping it all to start again from scratch.

However, as a rookie I needed a lot of help; I've visited hundreds of websites to build my somehow garish patchwork design, using a generator from here, a picture from there, a code or a font from elsewhere, which eventually resulted in a multiplication of tags and links from the websites I used resources from, to the point where my page was starting to look a Times Square billboard, hence this section.
Below is a list of links from the resources I've used so far. It will probably grow with time, but up to now, these websites have proved particularly helpful, whether it was for their tools, codes, or tutorials.
So to all of the programmers, designers, coders and assorted geeks below,  I say a big THANK YOU!!!

About me:
I'm a theatre graduate and therefore unemployed actress who does a summer gig on a local radio station for absolutely no money at all, can you imagine that? and I like going out by also staying in. That's about it.
And also I have a profile on myspace. It's only fair, everybody else had one.

And one last thing: I blog, I do it well, and I do it here: http://salomey5.wordpress.com/
The MySpace blogging software just wasn't good enough for me. Plus I'm getting wayyy more hits over there. So I moved. You should swing by, pay me a visit, and let me know how fucking-tastic I am!
