DOORS OPEN AT 8PM
“Saloon Tuesday @ the Bordello” is an extraordinary night of live Americana, Folk, Country, and Rocking Blue Grass Music. It’s held on the first tuesay night of every month at the provocative Bordello in Downtown Los Angeles.
Any given “Saloon Tuesday” could offer up a scene that triggers passion, psycho-dance, razor rifts and even a deep cloying spell. The energy melds in a thick dreaminess of sound that twangs between murder ballads and union songs.
The revolving list of bands bringing the stage mojo along with hosts Killing Cassanova have been the sparks of Old Bull, Los Duggans, Old Man Markley, Lincoln Bedroom, Merle Jagger... Also a stellar slew of singer songwriters like Tim O’Gara, Amilia K. Spicer, Jazz Callner, Cydney Robinson, Dean Chamberlain, Izzy Cox, Allegra Prosper... reverberate the velvet-laden room and suspends you, just like those tinkling black glass chandeliers that hang above your head.
These heroes are constantly breaking paradigms by opening the door to traditional tunes and spinning their tales into a new experimental fever.
With all the talent in LA, your bound to see those you’ve heard and those you’ve wanted to hear. It’s truly a multi-generational phenomenon.
Along with the incredible line-up of music is also the venue itself, a notoriously raw, poetic, edgy, art-house bar, with a theatrical stage. The Bordello is like walking into a Spanish brothel, opium den or temple in India. The next morning you can’t help but feel the way you do after an incredible hallucination: an experience of something great and legendary.
Killing Cassanova band mates Albert Paniagua and Zachary Crocker started this night in 2007. When asked what the night is all about? “We are creating a community of friends that inspire and are inspired by great music”.
“Saloon Tuesday @ the Bordello” celebrates record releases, publications releases, birthday parties. Resident artist “Hollywood Sue” shows up to enjoy the music and draw the bands depicting their gamet of personalities.
Who else will you run into at the Saloon?
The cover’s punk rock- Only $3 for a line up of 4 bands, that’s less than a bad film in an overcrowded, smelly theater! Great food and drink specials!
Bordello Bar is located on 901 East 1st Street on the corner of 1st and Vignes in Downtown LA. You will find ample street parking at NO charge.
SALOON TUESDAY @ THE BORDELLO!!!'s Friend Space (Top 40)
I regret missing that show. There is nothing quite like Saloon MOndays to get your energy back up. My friend loved it and plans to see you all again. Hugs to all.
Another fabulous Saloon Monday night at Bordello. The packed house made dancing even more fun, thanks. (The HonkyTonk Couture girls were a little scrappy) xxx
