This is truly the magnificent salsa band Japan ever had.
It is lead by a multi talented musician and a composer Gen Ogimi who was
the original founder and the leader of legendary, award winning, Bill Board
13 consecutive weeks number 1 band 'Orquesta De La Luz'. After leaving his
own successful group, Ogimi took off for more adventure and moved to New
York City in 1991. His authentic skill and taste was crafted and polished
while he was working with Tito Nieves, one of the most famous salsa singers of all the time from '93 through '96.
There he learned not only the technique but also the spirit of Salsa music.
When he returned to Japan after much of the experience, he wanted to re-create the energetic original Salsa music style of '60s-70's. And he founded his new group 'Swinggoza'. (the word created by Ogimi, swing and goza which means 'to enjoy' in Spanish)It contains enthusiastic professional musicians Ogimi carefully selected and the groove and the sound they create is something you would not want to miss.
They appeared at Fuji Rock Festival in 2006 as a first Salsa band and literally rocked the place. In 2007 they released their second album called 'Aqui se Puede' featuring Frankie Vasquez, a former lead vocalist of Spanish Harlem Orchestra. The album covers from classic salsa numbers to Beatle's love songs.
Check them out and be ready to dance your feet off! They are one of the
best Japan or the Salsa music industry ever had.
Agrupación musical, Salsa Swingoza(director: Guen Oguimi)

Thanks so much for the Add–and your friendship. We enjoyed your music very much. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. It's a pleasure having you among our friends! We've just added two new blogs about Umano, plus four more new compositions, making ten on our space. We hope you and your friends visit us and enjoy our music, too. We wake up every morning and play the music of the new MySpace friends who have arrived at our site during the night. It occurred to us that these friends (you are among them) are almost universally positive, whether they be novices or legends, and without regard to their station in life or the country they occupy. Although it's not an original thought, it also occurred to us that we couldn’t hold a verbal conversation with most of these friends, but we have bridged that gap by expressing our art honestly with each other. We all have been filling the world with our music and art, in the hope that our messages of love and human understanding will have an impact on the world at large. What a gift and what an opportunity we have received from this technology!
Kaleta & Akoya Afrobeat The Spirit Of Fela Is Alive & Well Mukatsuku Records 4/5 An explosive slice of Afrobeat from Kaleta gets the licensing thumbs up from Mukatsuku, who finally get this gem to the Fela faithful. Originally clocking in at over 14 minutes, its been chopped virtually in half to add more punch and immediacy, whilst on the flip Guynamite and label boss Nik Weston add a more contemporary boogie house twist to the original, in doing so losing none of the vitality or the 'Fela' essence.
