I've been fiddling since I was five. I play Irish, Old time, Bluesy and Jazzy music with gusto and commitment. I love festivals for the camaraderie and all night sessions, can't get enough. Woodford Folk Festival is my favourite (in Oz) for all 'round good vibes and fun, The National Folk Festival is my favourite for Sessions and catching up with the Australian folk music family. I'm big into community existance on many levels; Share housing, mutual support, musical endevours and for that very human of needs; Belonging. My aim is to help bring humanity a little closer to harmony through simply being real.
Lately I've been learning the intricate art of violin restoration and getting really excited about bringing life back to dusty old piles of sticks and hearing them sing again. I think I've finally found a job I can sink my teeth into.
The Love factor is my real passion.
Love Sal*
Our show on Fri 11 December at the East Brunswick Club, with a huge line up featuring Mojo Juju and the Snake Oil Merchants and Mikelangelo and the Tin Star; two of our very favourite acts. Hope to see you there
Hi Sally, Uncle Andy here...yes have been in West Virginia,Nashville and Cajun land....man there's some great music there...call me one day and we can talk......all the best Andy
I used to go religiously - something like 12 or 13 straight years, from the time I was 20 years old. I actually haven't been in a few years...I've been playing alot of Irish music for the last few years on both fiddle and guitar, and my mind has been elsewhere. Not sure if I'm going to make it this next year or not - we'll see.
If you come to the States, do go to Clifftop, but feel free to stay longer (or come earlier) and visit us up here in NYC. We can certainly show you a good time!
Friday October 23rd – Lee Rosser + TH3, live @ The Pub, Bendigo VIC
This will be one of THE VERY LAST SHOWS to be staged in the famed Band Room of The Pub (173 Hargreaves Street Bendigo), as it will be closing it's doors on Oct 31st.
Sadly, the well-sized band room, which has seen some fantastic nights for live music in Bendigo, will be closed due to lack of punter support over recent times.
Show Gav and the rest of the gang at The Pub that the live music scene in Bendigo is alive and kicking... come along and check out a brilliant night of blues & roots music besides, as the mighty Lee Rosser makes a long-awaited return to Bendigo!
Don't miss this opportunity to see some of the finest blues/roots/rock music Victoria has to offer!
we're up to season 2 number 3 so i know what you're talking about cocksucker!! i find calamity jane rather odd but the rest are good. didn't like the bladder stones scene. tom slept better last night so i won't feed him to the pigs just yet. we used to call Tsukamoto 'cocksuckermoto'. cute little teady bear of a chap don't you think? hope you enjoy the rest of your stay. having visitors was great for me. my daughters came and fran long enough to conceive tom! cheers, p
-good to hear you haven't gone totally nuts yet! meanwhile we're having baby sleeping issues so all feeling fairly deranged. i say let the little bugger scream himself to sleep but fran is my kind hearted. no doubt it will sort it self in a while. apart from that, a few gigs here and there and lots of teaching. remind thomas he's still a cocksucker! cheers, p
Hello Sally, yeah i suspect facebook is taking over, but myspace is still best for music i reckon. How's groundhog day on the boat going? Is autumn nice?
Hey Sal! It's all going pretty well up here. The festival just started so it's mental with people everywhere, but we're still managing to play tunes every night! Hope you're having fun in Japan, do you get any old-time tunes in up there? We're trying to find somewhere to start an oldtime sesh here cos there's heaps of crew who wanna play. Good to hear from ya, love the twins xx
Big gypsy tunes will echo around the centre of Melbourne on Friday 7 August when The Woohoo Revue head up a massive line up of bands and DJs at the Forum Theatre as part of the Melbourne International Film Festival’s Balkan Beatbox Night.
In addition to The Woohoo Revue, the show will also feature such amazing acts as Vardos, BabaGanoush, 13 piece brass band Opa! as well as DJ Gabriele Urban Gypsy (PBS Trans Europa Express).
The combined talents of these performers will make this a rampaging Balkan carnival of oom-pah, gypsy swing and huge brass band sounds.

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
