Miguel Migs plays one of the leading roles in the heart and soul of a San Francisco scene that boasts funk and jazz-tinged house music, and he has firmly established his place as one of the most exciting talents to emerge from America's dance music scene, always focused on the emotion and soulful content of his productions. The diverse musician and California native Migs whose "Breakin' It Down" single had the proud honor of being Naked Musics first release in 1998 started Salted Music last year, in 2004, as another creative outlet: a means of choosing and releasing music that inspires him and a vehicle for releasing his own productions and compilations. The Salted collective has put out 5 fresh 12 inch singles in the past year alone and there are many more on the horizon in 2005. There is a Lisha project artist album in the works and 2006 will see the release of a new full length from Miguel Migs.

Miguel Migs’ recent artist album 'Those Things' received massive support from critics and music fans alike selling more than 40,000 copies worldwide. Winning the Independent Music Awards best electronic album, as well as being voted into the top 20 best albums of the year by Virgin Records, along with numerous 4 and 5 star reviews by publications and web sites such as Amazon, URB, DJ mag and IDJ are just some of the accolades achieved. The album features a diverse array of special guest vocal talent and plenty of top notch soulful songwriting. These are the unreleased remixes.
Reggae idol and legend Junior Reid needs no introduction. Mig's remix of 'Fire' is a laid back afro influenced deep house rub-a-dub with lush chords, dubbed out horns and bleepy melodies. Josh Heath's dub of 'So Far' rides on a bouncing tracky and techy bassline with chopped up funk guitar skanks and glitchy vocal snippets. Simon Grey's dub of 'Those Things' locks into a deeper hypnotic sort of spacey disco groove.
Mario Basinov's remix of 'Can't Get Through' utilizes a funky guitar riff and bassline creating an uplifting energy. Migs’ bump version of 'Get Down' is a break beat pop rocker with warm analog synth melodies, a gritty electronic bassline and acoustic guitar licks. The Karol XVII and MB Valence dub of 'Let Me Be' is a late night big room stomper with tough busy beats and an intense energetic feel.

Joshua Heath - Writers Block EP
Street Date: December 10th 2008
After 2 stellar and successful releases on Salted Music, Joshua Heath is back with another stunning release! We are thrilled to present the Writers Block EP featuring a solid package of underground treats just in time for the holiday season...Agent Blue starts things off with a killer gritty B-line while the synth textures build and a blues tinged vocal hook elevates things to higher level. Just Funk Me Already locks into the underground disco influence with a funky ass live bassline that keeps things moving along steadily while dubbed out synth stabs and swells float in and out creating a moody atmosphere before Josh's Funk Me vocals kick into gear.. Heartache comes with the funk! This is one for the dance floor complete with guitar, horn hits and james brown-esque vocal snippets all building up to a climactic breakdown that explodes into uplifting territory. The Tech Mix effectively does just that and keeps things minimal while the Funk Mix rounds things off with a mid-tempo breakbeat bounce!
Miguel Migs - Those Things Remixed
Street Date: March 25th 2007
Those Things Remixed further diversifies Miguel Migs’ sound by offering new versions of album tracks from artists spanning the globe. UK band/DJ collective Crazy Poffers a funkier, spaced-out take on “Sometime,” while retaining – if not enhancing - Tim Fuller’s soulful vocals. “Fire feat. Junior Reid” undergoes two drastic changes thanks to Cottonbelly’s signature killer bass lines and Faze Action’s Afro-Jazz inspired house rhythms. Australian producer Simon Grey adds a thick layer of funk and synths and perfectly complements Lisa Shaw’s vocals on the title track, while Lithuania’s Mario Basanov takes it down and deep on his remix “Can’t Get Through feat. Tim Fuller.” Eric Stamile brings a little wobbly electro funk to the table with his dub of “So Far ” before Alix Alvarez drops in a warm and flowing take on “Merzmerized.” Additional remixes on Those Things Remixed come from Rasmus Faber, Dolls Combers, J-Boogie, and of course, Miguel Migs.
