Born of the desire to do something a bit different; Salvador 6 bring together disparate influences - jazz mixes with movie sound-tracks, and bossa-nova beats blend with trip-hop basslines. Add a bit of drum & bass and a few township grooves and you start to get the Salvador sound.
The song-writing sets the band apart too - no single musician writes the tracks. Instead tunes are built around grooves jammed and recorded in rehearsals. These are spliced and diced, reassembled into songs and learnt by the band.
Salvador 6 embrace sample-trickery and also utilise the turntables for soundscapes as well as scratch mayhem. All this: live and direct for your listening pleasure.

sorry for the super sluggish reply! we've been stupidly busy recently doing things like moving house, not sure where the disbanding rumour came from!? our singer Tom has moved to london but we're still carrying on, should have a new Cd ready & a stack of gigs for the start of the year, in the meantime we're playing a one-off where we'll be playing a new song or two:
